Today was fun, for a while at least. Mom and I went somewhere this morning. She wouldn't tell me where. We got in the car, and I could feel my heart pounding into my chest. Was I in trouble? Had I done something bad? Are they putting me up for adoption? Okay, probably not that last one. We pulled up to a shop, a pet shop to be exact, The Seattle Pet Emporium. I asked her what we were doing here, and she simply said "You'll see." We walked in and went to the back room where they keep the animals. She said "Pick out any cat you want, and I'll get it for you!" It had to be a cat, because our landlord didn't allow dogs. I saw this cute one. It was a girl kitten. But there was one thing, it had only three legs. It didn't seem to notice though. It played, more or less. It walked, more or less. It seemed to have trouble with, well, everything. I told mom I wanted it. "Are you sure? It only has three legs..." Said mom. "I said I wanted this one. You said I could get any cat I wanted." I said, afraid she wasn't going to let me get her. "Ok... Fine." We adopted her. She asked me what I wanted to name her. "Umm... how about Simplicity?" I said. "I like it," said mom. We drove home. Well I guess it's now time for my new life with Simplicity.
