Keerthi hesitantly placed a hand on her husband's shoulder.
He just stared into space,frowning.
"Any problem?"
Vikram sighed, pulling his wife into his lap, nuzzling her neck. He took a deep breath.
"What to do you think of shifting to Mumbai?"
Keerthi frowned,her hand in her husband's mane,"What?"
"Yeah. I think it's better to have a closer observation on the operations."
"Oh."Keerthi didn't like the idea.
"Yeah. How about next month?"
Keerthi was getting irritated, she had a stable job in Delhi. Her husband was talking about shifting, not just a few days.
"You could just go there once in a month?", Keerthi offered. The idea of shifting didn't sit well with her.
She wanted to be closer to her parents.
And her husband had been travelling to Mumbai once in a month for the last couple of months.
"It's not working. There are loopholes. It needs closer monitoring."
"I.. I don't know",she muttered.
"Have an opinion",Vikram gave his wife a sharp look.
Keerthi pressed her lips thin,"My opinion won't really matter to you, since you've already decided."
Vikram glared at his wife,"I want to discuss with you before coming to a decision."
"No. I don't like the idea."
Vikram sighed.
"Why not?"
"I have a job here", Keerthi gave her husband a blank face.
"Don't get defensive",Vikram snapped at his wife.
He went out of his way to reassure his wife that her opinion mattered. Frankly, she can fuck off if she continued to act like a brat.
"I am not", Keerthi was offended, she jumped off her husband's lap.
"Keerthi",Vikram warned.
"Sorry", Keerthi's lips thinned,"But. Why all of a sudden?"
"I just told you."
Keerthi wanted to stomp her foot,"Fine. Shift."
Though Vikram was pissed off,he didn't want to yell at his wife. She was right, she had a stable job. It was natural for her to be annoyed.
"Apply for transfer to Mumbai. I'll pull some strings."
Keerthi knew that.
She rolled her eyes."Sure."
"Dammit Keerthi. Don't try my patience."
"I just agreed with you. Why are you getting mad?"
Vikram glared at his wife, annoyed when she glared right back. Though he was glad his wife went head on in arguments with him without crying, she was so obstinate sometimes.
"What? You want me to throw a party?", Keerthi asked, sarcasm evident in her voice.
"Keerthi",Vikram warned,"Just because I'm not saying anything does not mean you can say anything you like."
"I'm surprised. Why aren't you?",she cocked her head sideways, taunting. She was so pissed off.
"That's enough. I don't give a fuck if you apply for a transfer or resign. We are moving next month",Vikram pronounced.
