I shuffle around in the cold, hard chair. I just finished testing for a new, rare type of cancer. It is deadly if not treated soon. The only problem? I have to wait in the hospital for the test results. The doctors estimate it will take up to 4 hours. I'm gonna be here for a while. Better find something to do.

I look around seeing all the injured and sick people. I shudder. I've never liked hospitals. They always gave me this eerie feeling, like someone was watching me. But I had to stay in case I had cancer so they could treat me as soon as possible.

My mind swirled.

What if I have cancer?

I'm probably gonna die!

I looked at the person on my left. He had fur all over his face and legs. His eyes looked like buttons. I whipped my head back to face the front. I squeezed my eyes shut. It's okay. It will be over soon. I pulled myself up from my seat and shuffled to the reception. The lady there was young and beautiful. I let out a sigh. Then I spoke. "Excuse me, I was wondering if there is anywhere else to wait for test results?" "I'm sorry that the waiting room is so crowded but this is the only place to wait." "Great," I muttered sarcastically. I slowly made my way back to my seat. The person on my right turned to me. "hEllO wAnNa bE fRieNds?" She mumbled. I gulped.

I'm gonna be here awhile.
