I woke up to the sound of the ocean, pots and pans and I could hear my brother joking with dad. I threw on my sweat pants and a t shirt with my favourite quote on it (look to the picture). I unzipped my tent and found Emery, Cassie, and Tag outside sitting around the fire with my dad and brother, they were all roasting hot dogs over the fire.
"Morning dad, where's the food?" I asked waking over to the food container and grabbing a poker and looking back to my dad sitting between my brother and Cassie. he held out a bag of dogs and I grabbed one and walked over the the empty folded chair next to Tag. He looked at me and I felt my skin tingle. I shoved my hot dog over the fire and listened to the conversation.

"So what are we doing today?" Cassie asked.

" I was thinking it would be cool if we all packed into the land rover and took a drive. All the moms went to the beach to knit of something" we all laughed.

"I'm in" i said " for once the car will be full" i said. The land rover was huge and had 8 seats. We almost never drove it but when we did, it was great.

Cassie and Emery got in the back seat and i had the feeling that this was planned out before i woke up. Tag and i sat in the far back seats that sat backwards way from everyone. We looked out the back window.

"So where do you live?" i asked Tag as my dad pulled out of the campsite and up the small road leading towards the mountains we would be exploring today. He looked at me and once again warmth flowed threw me. His gaze was heavy, he smiled and responded.

"during school i live in San Francisco, when i'm not in school i'm with my gran on the road." he said, the thought of him in a car traveling going anywhere and everywhere he wanted blew my mind. The thought of that freedom excited me, i had always loved traveling.

I took out my phone and plugged my ears as he did with head phones as listened as Marigold by Mother Falcon came on. We sat there and watched as the trees flew by us. I glanced at him every once in a while. His hair was longer, and his face was long and thin, but his eyes took up most of his face, icy blue, almost grey. His brow furred and he looked to his left and i followed his gaze, there was a small bear maybe only 4 feet tall running slightly behind us. We weren't going very fast maybe 20 or 30 miles per hour. The bear soon few short in the middle of the dirt road staring at us, and from the corner of my eye i saw him slowly nod at the cub. I was perplexed, and then from the distance i see the cub nod back and vanish around a corner. Tag looked at me and realized i had seen the entire thing, he smiled at me and looked away. a shiver ran threw me.
