Human emotions are complex and dynamic. More often than not, emotions control humans and not the other way round. Perhaps, for the very same reason, relationships are complicated. Abir and Mishti’s relationship, however different in it’s own mesmerising ways, had it’s own complications. The resort fiasco had been one of the of toughest moments in their newly married life. Both Abir and Mishti were forced to introspect and reflect on their actions. They realised that both were equally responsible for the heated argument. They were hearing each other, but not listening to each other. Abir acknowledged to himself that he had been to pressured by his mother’s malicious actions and therefore had refused to, or rather chosen to ignore Mishti’s problems. With this realisation dawning upon him, he soon returned to the resort. Mishti too, realised that perhaps she was too harsh on Abir. After a lot of emotional turmoil, Abir and Mishti had reconciled with each other, basking in each other’s warmth and solace. After spending another day at the resort, they returned home to happy faces of all, and a worried Kuhu. Abir could sense Kuhu’s uneasiness on seeing him, given the fact that he had reprimanded Kuhu for her words to Mishti during the resort night. He chose to ignore Kuhu for the time being, his priority right now being Mishti.
In life, each and every incident has it’s own purpose. Each moment is a life lesson and many times, it is the stepping stone to own up to one’s shortfalls and face the reality. For Abir, the resort argument had worked in a similar way. His fears that had clouded his judgement of Kuhu’s actions, had drifted past. After talking to Mishti, and most importantly listening to her, he came to one crucial conclusion- Kuhu’s insecurities had reached the tipping point. Although every person has their own share of insecurities, no person should be controlled by them to an extent that they become the cause for others troubles. Kuhu’s taunts and jibes always had their untold affect on Mishti, though Mishti chose to ignore them. Yet, now, Kuhu’s actions fuelled by her laden insecurities, had increasingly started haunting Mishti. More so, she was worried about the affect Kuhu and her doings had on hers and Abir’s married life. Abir could not no longer choose to ignore Mishti’s sufferings and soon had to find a solution this problem. After a lot of contemplation, Abir made a tough decision and was quite firm about it.
Mishti stood before the mirror and aimlessly combed through her hair. On entering the room, Abir saw a lost Mishti and faked a cough to catch her attention and divert her mind. Walking towards her, he said chuckling, “Angry Chorni, main yahi hun aur tum mere hi khayaalo main khoyi hui ho?!” “You Ajeeb Rajvansh. Main kya sirf tumhaare baare main hi soch sakti hun? Kisi ko itna be self obsessed nahi hona chahiye. Mai toh kisi aur ke baare main soch rahi thi”, Mishti answered with a mischievous smile and crossed her arms. Abir frowned and pouted while he placed his arms on Mishti’s waist and pulled her closer, “Haw Mishti! Mere jaise complete package husband jisme Zoya Akhtar ki films ka modern outlook, Soorj Barjaatiya ke sansakaar aur Yash Raj ke films ka glamour hai, aise husband ke hote hue, tum kisi aur ke baare main kaise soch sakti ho. Not fair Mishti.” Mishti had a huge grin on her face remembering these words; the very same words he had told her in the mandir, when they had confessed their love to each other. “Chalo, meri baaton se aakhir tumhare face pe ek badi si real waali smile toh aayi. Pata hain Mishti, jab tum hasti hona, toh bohut khoobsurat lagti ho”, Abir looked at her with sparkling eyes. Mishti blushed and smiled again at his compliment and said, “Mujhe kaise hasaana hai, yeh tumse better aur koi nahi jaanta Abir”. Mishti hugged Abir tightly. Abir hugged her back and closed his eyes, resting his chin on her head and placing his one hand on her head, while wrapping the the other around her waist. Abir and Mishti always found it difficult to stay away from each other, even if it was for a day. Only their hearts knew how they endured three arduous months of separation. After that period, the resort incident had ached their hearts like their breakup had. Abir knew that it was time he told Mishti about his decision. It would be a difficult job to convince her, but nevertheless, he had to do it; for her.
