Austin's POV:

Alicia's last words to me echoed in my ears. I entered my home with the biggest smile I've ever given to anyone. I entered my bedroom and carefully placed Gone on the table beside my bed. I jumped on my bed with my eyes closed, my arm over my forehead but the smile was still plastered on my face. I couldn't stop smiling. I can't believe this is fucking happening!

Her face flashed in my mind. She's just so beautiful. I can't believe I actually asked her out for a movie. A movie with Alicia, the girl I have been crushing on since the first time I saw her on the first day of our school.

I still remember how she looked when I first saw her. The way she walked, the way she held her head down, the way she held on tightly to her books, the way her bangs constantly fell on her face and the way she continously tugged her bangs behind her ear made me fall for her. She used to be the type of girl who would only want to be alone. I thought she never liked to talk much. She used to be quite reserved but then slowly she came out of her shell.

She actually talked, a lot. She turned out to be a chatterbox and had instantly made a lot of friends. I would always see her with her huge group of friends, smiling brightly and laughing all the time. I had never seen her cry. Never. Until yesterday.

I never had the courage to talk to her. I always thought that I wasn't good enough for her and she was way out of my league. The only thing I could do was to stare at her from a distance. One day, one of my friends caught me staring at her continously and figured out that I loved her. They dared me to ask her out. They helped me build up my confidence and when I finally had the confidence to talk to her, I couldn't even ask her out.

That day she was walking through the hall, normally Jessica and Maria would walk by her side but that day, it was a guy. I was hoping him to be her friend but when he had wrapped his arm around her waist and the way they both looked at each other told me that they were more than friends. They were in a relationship. They were together.

"What's with the Joker smile?" I removed my arm and saw Calvin in my room. "Dude, you're creeping me out." Cal exclaimed.

"I met her." I told him.

"You know, that was very descriptive but you mind giving me a little more than 'her'?" Cal asked, narrowing his eyebrows.

"Her." I repeated like a complete fool. The frown was still there but it disappeared within a few seconds and his eyes widened in realisation.

"Alicia?" He asked to confirm his doubt. I continued smiling at him.

"Whoa man. That's so cool. Did you talk to her?" He asked loudly then turned his head around. The door was open. He got off the bed to shut the door. He then jumped back on the bed and asked again.

"You talked to her, didn't you?"

"I not only talked to her, I spent all day with her."

"Shut up man! You can't be fucking serious?" He shouted excitedly.

"Dude, I am serious. I too can't believe it." I said to him, feeling on top of the world.

"-And I asked her out for a movie tomorrow." I said victoriously.

"What about her boyfriend?"

"He's not her boyfriend anymore. That bastard broke her heart."

"They've broken up? You have a chance man. Tell her." He said.

"Tell her what?" I asked, trying to sound confused but I definitely was not. I've been thinking the same thing he is for a while now.

"Tell her that you love her." Cal said.

"Dude, I can't do that. She's just broken up with Max. She needs a friend, not a boyfriend." I told him.

"Now get out of my room. I need to read." I told Cal.

"Sure bro." He said and got off my bed.

"Nerd!" He shouted at me and ran out of my room.

I yanked out the white handkerchief from my pocket and placed it on the table beside my bed and took Gone. I opened the book and started reading it. As I read the book, Alicia's face flashed before my eyes. I shook my head and tried to stop thinking about her. I tried harder to concentrate on the book but I failed. I gave up and placed the book on the table. I took the white handkerchief lying beside the book and held it in my hand. I layed down on my bed with it and closed my eyes, refreshing all the events happened today in my mind. Tomorrow, just a few hours, and I'll be with her.
