School life had taken over. The second week of the school started and we were introduced to our projects. An absent leave on Monday from school caused me a huge headache. The next day, I got to know that we had a Biology report due on Friday and an Art assignment due on the same day as well. At first, I had argued with Jess and Maria that why did the teachers had to put the deadline of two very important assignments on the same day. Then, I calmed myself and wondered why am I asking them ? It's not like anything will happen. So, I decided on which topic I wanted to write a Biology report on. I stayed after school to conduct some experiments for my Biology report. I was alone in the Bio lab and Austin was probably on his way to meet me.

"Need any help ?" I heard the very familiar voice as I did my experiment.

"No, thanks." I said, not turning around because I already knew who the person behind me was. I mentally hoped that he would simply leave. I waited to hear the sound of any movement of departure. But no. He stayed there and I started to feel annoyed, knowing that someone had their eyes locked on me.

"What do you want Max ?" I asked, giving up and turning around.

"A chance. I just want a chance." He pleaded.

"I don't want to give you a chance. Please . . . go away." I begged and turned my back to him and continued what I was doing. I felt Max's hand on my shoulder as he spun me, making me face him.

"I just want a chance. Is that too much to ask for ?" He asked, his face hardening and annoyance building up in his green eyes.

"Yes. I gave you a chance. You had two years to change yourself. But did you ? No." I said flatly, glaring at him and trying not to show him that he still had an affect on me.

"Is it because of him ?" He asked, his eyes narrowing and his grip of my shoulder tightening.

"Who ?" I asked. Which was completely useless because I knew exactly who he was referring to.

"That guy." He said like it wasn't a word but a hazardous acid.

"His name is Austin." I said sharply.

"Whatever. Is it because of him that you're not giving me a chance ?" He asked again.

"Max. It's not because of him. It's because of you that I'm not giving anyone a chance. I don't want anyone anymore and that's because of you, not Austin."

"Ally, I told you. I made a huge mistake." Now he was trying to pretend innocent.

"Max. Shut up. Austin will be here any moment. Get out of here."

"As I said, I don't care." He said and leaned in a bit.

"But I do ! Please go." I said quickly, sensing that there was very, vey, little space between us.

"Alright, I'll leave but before that, promise me that you'll answer my call." He said.

"I won't." I said.

"Alright then. I'll just stand here and wait for your Austin to come. I wonder what he'll think when he sees you and me, together, standing so close." He said, a grin playing on his face just a few inches from me.

"Maybe he'll finally leave us alone after seeing us together." He sneered, draping his arms around my waist.

"Fine ! I'll pick up your call. Now go, please." I said as I struggled free from his arms.

Max stayed in his position and grinned victoriously. He leaned toward me again. I tried to step away from him but I couldn't move any further. The table behind me was stopping me from going anywhere. He took advantage of the table and placed both of his hands on the table. He kept on leaning in. DANGER! He was going to kiss me ! I immediately turned my head to my left. He accidentally kissed me on the cheek.
