one year later

Lee Donghyuck had decided to throw a small party to celebrate the one year that mark was living in Acaglim. He invited all his friends, Jaemin, Jeno, Renjun, Jisung and Chenle, and some of the friends Mark made during that year. He had befriended Daniel in his intensive class during the second month he had been there. Hendery on the other hand had been the one to help Mark learn the Magical Economics and ever since then they were best friends. Yangyang happened naturally since he was the only one of the squad that wasn't weirded out about him and Chenle dating. He had also made a friend on the tavern, Minseok, one of the most influential fairy of the city. 

The party was supposed to be a surprise  but Hyuck was bad at keeping secrets, so Mark had to pretend not to see nor hear him planning everything. It would take place in the little house they were sharing for the past month, most precisely on their little backyard. The backyard was filled with flowers Mark found too cute to just be at the woods, so we would bring back home a little flower and make them grow big there. There was every color you can think of, all of them shining beautifully and being protected by the big tree Johnny had planted years ago. 

Now Johnny had moved to the humans world, living with Jaehyun after a long period of them struggling to decide what to do. They were much more mature than Mark and Hyuck were but they also had a lot more responsibilities so it took a while but Johnny moved there, giving up his powers. Renjun apparently was trying to find a way to get both the lovebirds, Lucas and Chittaphon on Acaglim to the party. At least that was what Mark could figure out from the whispers Hyuck sent to his best friend. 

The day of the party came and Mark almost couldn't wait to close the tavern he was now running for Johnny. Once the last ogre left, Mark went flying home as fast as his wings allowed him to go. When he got home all was silent and he questioned if we actually didn't fooled himself into thinking there was going to be a party. But once he stepped in the backyard all his friends were there as long as Hyuck, who looked more beautiful than ever before. He wore a white button up and black trousers and a bit of golden eye shadow. Mark's heart hurt seeing how beautiful his boyfriend looked under the small fairy lights that his friends had brought from the human's world. 

Everything went great and Mark had time to chat with all his friends, enjoy the food and the drinks and spend sometime with Hyuck.  It had been so long since he first saw his cute cat boy in that park and decided to adopt it, but he never even once had wondered how his life would had turned if Hyuck didn't showed up that day. He knew deep down they were meant to meet that day and to live the rest of their lives together and he couldn't even picture himself without the blue wings anymore. That night just made them be more sure of that, of how strong their love was. 

When it was already late and everyone was already distracted enough, Hyuck turned to Mark and asked if they could go for a quick walk. Of course Mark never said no to anything his boyfriend ever asked him, so they left the party silently. At first it seemed like they were both just wandering around, walking without any actual place to go. But after a few minutes Donghyuck started to guide Mark to the portal. There were a few candles light up close to the trees that lead them to the human world and even a bottle of Mark's favorite white wine. Once they got there Mark already knew what was happening, so he couldn't hold his tears back.

Hyuck kissed him softly first, holding Mark's face with both hands and caressing his blushed cheeks afterwards. The smell of the sweet gardenias reminded Mark of the day he and Hyuck moved into their house, with their still small lizard and their already big wolf. Hyuck then proceeded to kiss the top of Mark's forehead and then get down on one of knees. He got a red box out of his pocket, opening it in front of Mark.

- Mark lee, one year and two months ago i asked you to be my boyfriend. Now i stand here to ask you to be my fiance. I would love to do nothing more than love and treasure you for the rest of my life. - he took a second to breath in and smile at his boyfriend before continuing. - I know it might seems too soon for other people, but i feel like it's the right timing for us. I knew i loved you the moment you tried to pet me. So would you give me honor of one day becoming my beloved husband?

Mark couldn't give any proper answer since he was crying too much, so he just got on his knees too and kissed his now fiance the happiest kiss ever. Everything felt more right than ever, they were the happiest couple. Mark wanted to share the news with his friends so badly, but not that night. That night he wanted to keep that just between them, enjoy the first night as an engaged couple in peace. And he knew Hyuck would agree to wait till the next day to tell everyone. They didn't even rush to go home after that, they just popped the bottle of wine open and drank it straight from the bottle while resting themselves against the big threes that separated Acaglim and Eart.
