"He is an innocent child!? Are you joking, Lorien?"
"Not at all. Just like I said, most people think of him as you do but the more you stay close to him the better you'll understand," explained Lorien.
"Yes, Lorien is right. Also, nice to meet you Dery!" A boy with glasses approached them and offered Dery a handshake.
"Nice to meet you too!" Dery accepted the handshake. "You are Andrew right? I have heard so much about you."
"Oh boy and I have heard so much about you too." Another girl had joined the discussion.
"And you are..." Dery shook hands with her too.
"My name is Amanda. But you can call me Amy, short."
"Nice to meet you Amy!"
"What!? That was too damn quick! Too damn quick!"
The voice came from someone else. All of them turned their heads.
"Igor!?" said Andrew.
"I had been trying to get in a conversation with this guy with everything I got yesterday, but he wouldn't reply for anything. How did you guys get buddies so fast?" Igor was furious... in an innocent way of course.
"Maybe because you didn't get introduced properly," said Lorien laughing.
"Lorien please stop bragging about your introducing skills." joked Amy.
"So, does that mean everything is okay now?" Igor was asking Dery.
Dery had a quick look at Lorien who then made an approving gesture.
"Yeap, everything's fine." Said Dery looking Igor right in the eyes and giving him a handshake too.
After that, the first lesson started quickly. It was Chemistry, a subject where Dery struggled.
"I don't get these formulas like hell. If only other subjects were as easy and logical as Maths and Physics," complained Dery.
"It's actually pretty logical, but I guess you just don't like it right?" said Igor.
"Well, what you are saying isn't a lie. But still..."
"Look at her." Igor pointed at Amy, who was solving a really difficult exercise at the board. "She is amazingly good at Chemistry, I like her. But her Maths don't even come close to mine."
"Why do you like Maths?"
"What!? Who said that I liked Math?"
"You don't!?" Dery was surprised.
"Of course not! Please don't say stuff like this around. I don't want the others to think that I'm a nerd!"
"Oh, I get it."
"No, you don't get anything! I really don't like Maths."
"Okay. Okay," said Dery calmly.
"What about you? Do you like it?"
"I love it! To me Math is like a way to explain everything. Physics are limited to what we already know, but Maths can go beyond that. That's why I like them."
"Anyways..." said Igor as if he was bored with that speech.
"Think of what you will! I gave you my answer."
As time passed, Dery and Igor got to know each other better and better. They had a lot of similar interests but at the same time a lot of opposing ideas.
Later that day, during the lunch break, Dery decided to hang out with his new friends and not with Mathew and the others. He was certain that these guys were his style.
