Sonia POV
His dream came true. Gaara's, I mean. He's become Kazekage. Iku is going to graduate from the academy a few years from now. And me? I've stayed at Gaara's side, tamed the demon within me and learned to cope with the nightmares that had been haunting me for years. We've been living a peaceful life since I've moved back to Suna. Apart from the bullies that had been bothering Iku...let's just say they won't be bothering him anymore. They aren't dead, but they won't have the guts to lay a finger on Iku ever again. I've made some friends, whilst keeping in touch with those in Konoha of course. Oh! I almost forgot, I've been promoted to Jonin! They wanted me to join the ANBU but Gaara believed it was time for me to escape the obscure life I had been living. He believed it would be best if I stayed at his side without hiding in the shadows. He thought right. And I'm actually kinda liking it out here. Only a few peoples know what I'm hiding, and I'd like to keep it that way...but I might go as far as to say that I'm happy with my life. Well, with my current life... The past is the past, right? No use holding grudges, they won't make anyone's life better... I don't forgive my father, but I wouldn't say that I hate him. I mean, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be where I am today. I just hope this peace will last...
Third Person POV
"Kankuro, shut up before I make you choke on sand..."
Kankuro's face paled.
"Well, at least it's not a complete death threat..." he muttered.
"It might be..."
He sweat dropped and glanced over at his younger brother.
"You don't mean that, right..?"
"You think the Kazekage would lie?"
"Gaaaraaaa..!" Kankuro whined dramatically while Gaara "hn" 'd.
"Enough, both of you..." Temari commanded as she walked it, rubbing her temple.
Gaara sighed. "Kankuro, I wouldn't care if you did all the paperwork in the world. Sonia is MINE." he stated firmly.
"Is that so?" Sonia said jokingly as she climbed in through the window, making Gaara blush in embarrassment.
"Awwweeeh, our little bro's in loooove!" the eldest siblings sang, making Gaara sweat drop and Sonia giggle.
"Idiots..." Gaara mumbled to himself.
Sonia grinned and hugged her lover from behind. "You're right, I'm yours."
"AWWWWWEEEHHHHH!"
"Ew..." Iku said walking in making everyone laugh.
"It won't be so gross when it's your turn to fall in love!" Temari sang while Iku rolled his eyes.
"Hey sis." he greeted Sonia.
She went over to him and gave him a hug and a nuggie. "Hey lil' bro! How was your day?"
He giggled and hugged her back. "It was okay, I guess.."
"You guess?"
He nodded.
"Did anything bad happen?" she asked, concerned.
"Wellll....." he trailed off.
Sonia crossed her arms. "Tell me..."
He lowered his head in shame. "...I... failed the exam..." he muttered.
Sonia sighed and pulled him back into her arms. "It's okay, I'm not mad... I mean, you did your best, right?"
He nodded his head slightly.
She kissed her little brother's forehead and knelt down so she was at his height. "Keep trying your best, and you're sure to pass, no matter what." she said with a reassuring smile.
"Thanks sis..." he replied with a grin.
"And don't let anyone bring you down either, I know you're a smart kid, all you've gotta do is start believing in yourself."
He nodded. "Hey, sis?"
"Hmm?"
"Could you... erm, help me study for the re-test?"
"Of course." Sonia replied with a smile.
After a few minutes, Gaara stood up triumphantly. "The paperwork is done for today..!" he stated before letting out a tired sigh. "Finally... so much paper... so many dead trees... I feel bad for the trees..." Gaara mumbled.
Sonia placed a hand on the young man's shoulder and smiled. "You survived the horrible paperwork, Gaara." she praised.
He smiled back then looked out the window. "Ready to go?"
Sonia nodded and took both Iku and Gaara's hands. They then headed off.
"Can we get some ice cream?" Iku asked, looking up at them both.
"I don't see why not." Gaara replied with a smile.
"Yaaaay!" Iku cheered.
The three of them walked on and smiled at the sunset.
They wished for this peace to last from the bottom of their hearts.
But with their luck,
it would be too good to last...
