"Are we really going to follow Naoto?"
"Do you have any better ideas?!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I just don't want to get arrested for being a stalker!"
"Ugh! You're such a girl!"
"Excuse me, did I ask you to assume my gender?!"
"You identify as a girl! How am I assuming anything?!
"Why I oughta..."
"If you idiots are going to keep yelling, get your own bush!"
"Shut up Kanji!" Yosuke and Chie yelled in unison. They then went back to arguing.
It had been Rise's idea to follow Naoto after she left one of their hang out sessions early. The opportunity had arisen about a week later.
They had been watching a movie at Yu's house when she had to leave about halfway through. As soon as she left, they stopped the movie and followed her out the door. They followed her all the way to Junes.
They thought it would look pretty suspicious if she caught them in the store, so they decided to hide outside and wait for her to come out. And that is why they are currently hiding in a bush by the front door.
"Teddie, this would be much easier if you weren't wearing your fur," Yukiko commented. "It takes up a lot more space."
"I can always take it off..." he replied seductively. "Would you like me to strip for you ladies?"
"Not in your life!"
"Don't you dare!"
"If you even think about it, I'll smack you!"
"I wouldn't mind..."
"......"
"Who votes we kick Narukami out of the bush?"
Before the votes could be counted, "what are you guys doing in there?"
They all poked their heads out of the bush and saw Dojima and Nanako.
"oh uh..." Yosuke started sweating. "We're playing... hide and seek!"
"Who are you hiding from?" Nanako asked sweetly.
"Naoto." They all answered at once.
Dojima looked at them suspiciously. "You're playing hide and seek... yet you all hid in the same place...?"
"uh... yeah!" Yukiko continued. "Naoto is super smart, but even she wouldn't think of that!"
"Uh-huh..." he clearly did not believe them. "Well... just don't do anything stupid okay?" they all nodded and the two continued walking.
As soon as they were out of sight, they all let out a sigh of relief. "Man... that was too close..."
"Wait! There she goes!"
They all looked where Kanji was pointing and saw Naoto walking out of the store. She was holding a very tiny bag. About the size of a baseball.
Chie eyed the bag suspiciously. "What could be so small to fit in a bag like that?"
"We'll have time to think about that later." Yu stood up once she was far enough away. "Let's go..."
~time skip~
"Aw, man!"
They had followed Naoto all the way back to her house. They had been waiting there for an hour, but it didn't seem like she was going to be coming back out. They could see that her window was open, and they could faintly hear music playing.
"She's probably working on a case for her grandpa." Chie guessed. "This was a waste of time..."
"Maybe not..." Yu thought it over. "I think we need to follow her a few more times. Maybe this time was a fluke. We need to keep following her to see if she does anything else when she leaves early."
"I don't like invading her privacy..." Kanji looked down, "But I want to make sure she's not in trouble..."
The others weren't crazy about the idea, but they agreed to follow her again.
