I don't know how it happened.
As I gazed down at the beautiful purple flower petal, peppered with dark, red blood spatter—my, red blood—in my hand, I wondered how this had happened.
All I did was look at him.
His heterochromatic hair—red and white—and his dual colored eyes—blue and gray. His strong, comforting form and presence, his soft, low, baritone voice. His somehow lovely red scar over his otherwise flawless skin.
Of course, I only respected him. His subtle kindness and his apparent intelligence and bravery were inspiring and worthy of my admiration. I could only naturally strive to be like and emulate him.
But then, like all tragedies, something changed.
It was during the school day; Todoroki had asked me for some help, and Mina had inadvertently made me realize a secret I wasn't even aware I was keeping...

The finals were coming up, and Todoroki-san had asked me for help with some problems in English he did not fully understand.
Of course, I immediately agreed, as he had helped me so much in the past with Final Exams for the hero course. It was only natural, that as a friend who respected him deeply and a person who adored to share my knowledge, that I would be elated at his request.
He had asked me during class, to which I readily accepted. But Mina overheard, and as soon as Todoroki-san was gone, she came over to me with a smile. I knew that smile, it was the smile that she put on when she was going to ask something related to relationships, or something naughty.
"Soooo, are you going to confess to tall, dual colored and handsome during that study session? Who knows, you could study anatomy if you get lucky."
She smiled suggestively at the last part, nudging me in the side with her elbow as I found my face heat up. Why was it hotter all of a sudden?
My cheeks felt like a fire was in them, and I protested her assumptions, "Mina what are you talking about?! I admire and respect Todoroki-san, but it's not as if I think of him that way! Besides, it's just a study session, he needs help, so as a friend I will assist him."
She just stared at me before shaking her head slightly all the while sighing with obvious disappointment and...pity?
She looked back at me with the same pity and exasperation of her head shake and sighed, "Momo, I love you, you're adorable, you're as intelligent as they come, but I swear. Sometimes, you are so dense and blind to emotions, it's unbearable."
She walked away and called behind her shoulder in the rowdy classroom, "Just don't catch Hana, 'kay?"
I was left feeling perplexed at her statement, and with burning cheeks I returned to my desk. I wish she had refrained from telling me that, because I might of not realized what I did during the session, and I might not have fallen.

After school we had met up in the classroom, staying after the bell and telling Aizawa we were going to have a quick study session.
He consented, but he turned to Todoroki-san and me to sternly say with his dull black eyes gleaming sharply, "I want no funny business, ya hear?"
Todoroki accepted with a perplexed yes. I was also confused, until I thought of Mina's statement on studying anatomy with Todoroki, then I realized what he had meant.
I started blushing, I mean, it's not like I see him that way! At least, that's what I told myself until the study session began. We went over several problems, so I pushed everything but work out of my mind in order to answer his questions.
