And just like that, Lincoln Burrows got to live another day. Another few days, maybe even a week or so. And, let's just say that people were surprised to hear that, including Michael and Lincoln.

"Alright, back to your cell you go." Bellick grunted, grabbing Michael by the elbow after handcuffing him. Clearly he wasn't happy about Burrows not getting executed, and he didn't actually even try to hide it.

"Warden," Michael called out over his shoulder as Bellick tried to push him through the door, causing Pope to turn around and face Michael, who was interrupting his conversation with Veronica.

Michael heard Veronica say something along the lines of 'Just a few minutes, please', before hearing Pope sigh loudly. "Alright." he said, "Bellick, let the boy talk to his lawyer."

"But, boss-" Brad started, "Do as I say." Pope sternly said, causing Bellick to grunt, shoving Michael back into the visitation room as the warden made his way out of the door.

"You have five minutes, Miss Donovan." he said, closing the door shut on his way out. As soon as he heard the door click, Michael jerked his head towards Veronica.

"Veronica, what's happening?" he asked, obviously relieved that his brother gets to live, even if it's just for another day or two. That may be enough for him to bail Lincoln out.

"The, uh- governor called." Veronica explained, "He said that he's gonna give them another few days to. . . test the chair." she sighed, "But Linc's alright for now, and that's all that matters." she said, placing a hand on Michael's shoulder.

"So Sara did convince him.", he thought aloud, a small smile making it's way on his face. He looked at Veronica, a frown replacing his smile as he noticed she had a look of guilt on her face.

"Do you, maybe. . ." he started, "Know what could've possibly made the governor change his mind?" he asked. He had to be sure. Michael had to be sure it was Sara.

"I, uh- Wh-" Veronica stuttered, "Why are you asking me that?" she blurted out, "How could I know?" she looked around the room, folding her arms in front of her chest as she sighed. "Just forget it, Mike. All that matters is-"

"Veronica." Michael closed his eyes for a second before fluttering them open. "Please. For the sake of our friendship." he pleaded, his blue eyes searching for hers as she tried her best to look away, "Please do not lie to me."

"I'm not-" Veronica started, but it seemed like she was hesitant to say something.

"Tell me the truth." Michael said, taking a step towards her. "Please."

"Michael, if I tell you the truth. . ." she finally gave in, rubbing her forehead as she let out a sigh, "You have to promise me that you won't tell anybody. Not even Lincoln."
