"Did you hit your head or something? Is that why you're talking all this bullshit?"
"Allison, I did not hit my head. I'm telling you the truth! Daniel came there and told me-"
"Told you that our uncle is alive." Allison snorted, placing her fingers on her forehead as she took a deep breath. "You know what, I'm not surprised he told you all that. But I am surprised that you believed him." she stood up from where she was sitting, turning her back to her sister.
Marie stood up from the garden chair she was sitting in, making her way towards her sister. "Allison." she placed a hand on her shoulder. "I know it sounds ridiculous, but far more things have happened that we thought were impossible. I mean, look at me." Marie walked so that she was now in front of Allison. She took her hand, giving it a squeeze. "Merely two weeks ago I was announced dead."
Allison frowned, ripping her hand away from her sister's as she scowled. "That is not the same." she said through clenched teeth. After a moment of silence she sighed, turning around to walk away. "How is it not?" Marie raised her voice at her sister, "If Paul managed to drag me over to his house so far away without a single trace, then maybe, just maybe-"
"You're reaching, Marie." Allison clenched her fists, her hand barely milimeters from the door handle.
"And how do you know that?" Marie asked, her eyes widening in surprise at how fast Allison's head snapped towards her.
"Because I was there!" Allison shouted, slowly approaching Marie as her eyes were glossed with tears. "I was there to identify his dead body, I was there to pick his fucking casket, I was there for his funeral and memorial!" Allison said through clenched teeth, poking Marie in the chest as she spat every word in her face. "And where were you?" Allison's mouth twitched as she looked at her sister's surprised face. "Where were you?"
Marie opened her mouth to speak, but soon after closed them, unable to form words.
"You strolled around the town popping pills with your perfect boyfriend. And look where that got you." Allison's words stabbed Marie in the heart like a sharp knife, but she kept silent. Allison didn't lie. It's all true.
"So don't come over here talking that nonsense ever again. Because if you do, I won't be so nice." Allison said, finally turning around and storming towards the door, slamming it hard to let out her anger. She stomped over to the kitchen, leaning over the sink as she let a stray tear escape down her cheek. She let out a breath, reaching over for a glass mug to her right, but, instead of grabbing it, she accidentaly knocked it over, jumping away when the glass hit the floor.
"Great." she muttered, kneeling down to pick up the broken glass pieces. She winced as a small piece of glass pierced her palm, drawing some blood.
