The musician's heart beat in time to the machine as it had many times in his life, just one noise, one small part of the symphony of medical equipment surrounding him. An old orchestra approaching the end of its final piece, slowing ever so slowly before it finally comes to a rest. Strangers pass by outside oblivious to the finale of his life, neither seeing nor hearing the end of his last grand performance. The otherwise empty and now quiet hospital room is the only witness to his passing, a lonely spectator to the tragic event.
