Hyungwon was calmly sat in his apartment while he was finishing some extra work for his Boss. He worked as a photographer for a modeling agency, he always ended up working in the middle of the night on filing down the photos he had taken earlier that day. Meanwhile next door, Wonho was in his apartment watching tv as his brother Changkyun was studying for his final exams.
"Its late, studying wont help if you're tired."
"just 1 more hour, i've almost got it"
"10 minutes."
"Thats not fa-"
Just as changkyun was about to start complaining to Wonho about his time limit, he was cut off by a loud roar of thunder, seconds later the entire apartments lights turned off.
"did you pay the electricity bill?"
"yes, you idiot, its probably going to turn back on in a second."
The seconds turned into minutes, which turned into almost an hour, no electricity, and now a storm outside echoing through the building, Wonho and Changkyun put on the flashlights on their phones and looked around.
"Its definitely something to do with the storm, at least they are entertaining right?"
"what about my exam?"
"the one in a months time?"
"a month! its gotten closer...."
"Thats how time works, besides, i didnt start studying for my exam a week before, i still passed."
"you got 2% over, you're no einstein.... did You hear that?"
"hear what?"
"next door, i heard something? does anyone live there?"
"yeah, His names Hyungwon, he's pretty nice, he lives there alone."
"Do you know him well?"
"yeah, why, are you jealous I have friends- stop trying to listen through the wall into his apartment, give him privacy!"
"Shut up! im listening, i think i hear something."
"hear what?"
"oh now you want to know? get lost! i was listening first! Hey! dont push me!!"
"shut up or he might hear you."
"anyway... it sounded like crying... i couldnt tell if i was right or not."
"yeah, thats what it sounds like..."
"ugh, go on then, i can see you want to check on him."
"I won't be long"
Wonho took his phone and walked out of his apartments door, and stopped at Hyungwons apartment next door.
"Hey Hyungwon? are you in there??"
silence..
"Hyungwon? are you okay?"
Wonho put his ear to the door and listened inside, he could hear a faint rustling sound getting closer to the door.
"who is it...."
"Its me, Wonho.."
Hyungwon unlocked the door and slowly poked his head out into the long hallway that was lit up by Wonho's Phone flashlight.
"I thought I should check up on you while everything is shut off. Are you okay?"
Hyungwon slowly shook his head and looked down at the floor.
"whats wrong?"
Hyungwon was about to reply to Wonho's question until he was cut off by the sound of thunder crashing from outside, he quickly covered his ears and let out a small cry.
"hey, it's okay, it's just thunder, there's nothing to be scared of."
"I'm scared... of thunder.... and I'm... scared of the... dark"
Wonho sighed as he hugged the younger male, Seeing him upset and scared gave Wonho a weird feeling, as if he needed to protect him and make him feel safe.
"it's okay, just calm down.."
Wonho pointed his phone toward the living room and walked Hyungwon over to sit him down, he sat down beside him and placed his phone on the table illuminating the room.
The two of them sat in the living of Hyungwons apartment for a while until the storm started to clear up, the electricity had still yet to be put back on. A total of 2 hours had passed, Hyungwon had calmed down alot more, the only issue that remained was the fact there was no electricity, meaning no lights, the only light coming From Wonho's phone which was not going to last much longer.
"my phones going to die any minute now.....great..."
"hyungwon?"
"wonnie?"
Wonho leaned his head forward and looked over to see that Hyungwon had fallen asleep on his arm.
Cute.
I mean.. Ah screw it, he's cute, even when sleeping!
Wonho quietly picked up his phone and turned off the flashlight just before his phone battery died.
Perfect timing.
The electricity came back on after many hours of waiting through the storm, but for the two of them, it didn't feel like hours, more like minutes, Hyungwon still lay fast asleep beside him, even with the lights now working and beaming.
Wonho kept his eyes on hyungwon beside him, he was debating whether to wake him up or to leave him to sleep. He eventually decided to let hyungwon sleep, he thought after being upset he'd need the rest.
As Wonho stood up to leave he smiled to himself and pecked hyungwon on the cheek, he picked up a blanket that was folded on the chair by the window and placed it over him as he was sleeping and soon left the apartment to return to his own.
"almost three hours!"
"oh, you're awake?"
"yeah, I take it your little boyfriend is asleep?"
"he's not my boyfriend!"
"suuurreeeee."
"shut up or I'll tell Jooheon."
"you wouldn't..."
"I don't mind telling your boyfriend how you act."
"fine! I'll stop.. But you better invite me to the wedding!"
