Chapter 16: JSPR vs. VRDN

The two teams emerge from their respective tunnels. Team JSPR (Jasper) comes through, arriving at the center platform with team VRDN (Viridian).

Jade arrives on stage. She slowly scans the crowd and gives them a simple wave of her hand to those cheering for her. Jade wears a mesh short sleeved top with a gentle crimson sports bra underneath and form fitting black pants. Her green silk straight hair flows to the mid of her back. Dark red leather guards decorate her shoulders, elbows, and shins. On her hands and feet, she wears her weapon, a set of obsidian black claws that overlay each of her fingers. Black straps emerge from her claws that overlay a few times forming an X pattern.

Sakura wears a pink sleeveless form fitting top with a small opening at her chest. A matching ankle length skirt with a slit going to her mid-thigh, black shorts slightly visible underneath. Turquoise sequin armband sleeves hang loosely from her arms that get pushed away with each rotation of her weapon. Her weapon being a pair of large chakrams with a bandaged grip that she causally spins around her arms. Her long pick hair tied in a long braid sways from side to side with her movement.

Pyr walks up to the platform with a confused but soon excited expression as she happily waves at the crowd. She wears a white cheongsam with gold trimmings in a rigid design. With brown gladiator sandals and bronze guards strapped to her arms. Wild curly brown hair and tawny skin. Her weapon appears as a large rectangular case on her back and a silver spin dial near one end, a clear strap going across her chest diagonally.

Rez marches on stage. Dressed in a large knee length pale red tunic with the edges lined by thick fur. Heavy winter boots and pants also lined at their edges with fur. Unkempt copper hair adorns his head while relaxed emerald eyes leave either a relaxed impression. His weapon, a simple saber sword at his hip. But seeming to be shorter length than normal and with red dust integrated in the weapon.

On the opposite side, Viola stands dressed in a pale lilac tattered shirt. Sheer puffy dark purple skirt and pink tights. She gently holds her violin in hand, clearly her weapon.

Rai comes to stage surprisingly shirtless. Instead wearing rather loose and baggy yellow silk pants with a heavy purple sash wrapped around his waist. Likewise, simple wooden geta clogs clack at every step. Tattoos of large stretches of pale lilac clouds and dozens of tomoe decorate his chest, back, and arms. His weapon appears to be a somewhat large bongo drum lined with lightning dust.

Dianthus comes dressed in a deep red Japanese Gi. White accents decorate the Gi and bandages are clearly seen wrapped around her chest. She carries a large cello with a curved axe blade at its base.

The final member of team VRDN, Nasrin is mostly noted for a spiky red mane of hair. Black jacket and pants offset by a dark red shirt and metal beads. He skips onto the stage with eager glee and carries a simple silver flute.

Moranda's voice rings out from the surrounding speakers. "Welcome back folks, today we have a special treat for you. Today's Atlas team is nothing to scoff at. Despite being around for only one semester, team JSPR has made themselves known with the potential to become Atlas's best. A solid track record and performance since their arrival. This is especially true for their leader, will all Atlas fans out there please give a round of applause for the academy's number one, the tiger empress Jade Xifang!"

Deafening cheers and applause echo throughout the arena. Around them, several holographic screens appear. They immediately begin to spin like slot machines with several symbols passing by in a blur. The crowd calms, watching the symbols pass. Finally, the symbols lock in place deciding the biomes, gravity fields and ice field.

Announcer Morse comments. "Aside from huntsmen in training, team Viridian practices music and often plays concerts around Haven academy on the weekends. Viola is known to dance and play Violin simultaneously. Quite remarkable honestly."
