"What are you doing here?" I looked out the window, it was still dark, but you could tell that the sun was going to rise soon. "The battle hasn't started yet,"
I couldn't belive that Lord Hacker was in my cell room. This reminded me of a dream I had a couple years ago. In the dream, I could see a black figure hovering over me as I slept. The scariest part about it was that I was sleeping in my bedroom. That meant that this figure was in my room. The situation got ten times scarier when I noticed that the figure had white glowing eyes. I knew who it was.
Boogeyman.
I tried to wake myself up (which I'm not even sure is possible). I kept trying and trying, but I just couldn't. All that I could do was sit there and stare at Boogeyman hovering over me. When I finally woke up, I looked around the room cautiously. I couldn't see him, or at least I couldn't see his glowing eyes. So I turned off the light and went back to bed.
Now I was starting to notice how alike Lord hacker and The Boogeyman looked. Both of them were black figures, and they both had glowing eyes. I started to wonder if I was dreaming. Someone had once told me that in dreams there is never a clock on the wall. I began to look for a clock, but it was no use. There weren't any clocks in the prison.
"Oh, I know. I just came to deliver your gun." He tossed a pistol at me, I caught it. "And to tell you something. I know that I have twelve million players to kill, but I still have the ascendency."
I was stunned. Lord hacker must have somehow heard me talking to Eric the night before.
The hacker continued. "No matter what, I will still win. I'm at least five times stronger than you. And if you divide five by twelve, you get 0.416. So, I'm stronger than you, your team, and my team combined."
I had never realized that Lord hacker was that strong. I had thought that we would have the upper hand, since he was outnumbered ten to three.
"You can never know who you can and can't trust. You should always be cautious, even around your own teammates." Lord hacker disappeared into thin air.
I beagn to wonder how he had just disappeared. I wanted to figure out that first, but I knew that I had more compressing concerns to think about. I decided to put the first thought aside for now, and think about what Lord hacker had said. It was hard to remember what he said exactly, but I could remember the main ideas. Somehow The hacker heard me talking to Eric the night before, he's stronger than my whole team combined, I can never know who I can trust, and I should always be cautious.
I was about to start thinking about what those things meant, but one look out the window told me that I needed to wake everyone else up. First I went to Pedro's cell.
"Pedro, get up. The battle is about to start."
"It's too early," he groaned from his bed.
"I know, but if we don't get up now then we're going to miss the start of the battle." I responded.
I went from cell to cell, waking everyone up. I got the same response from almost everyone: a groan, and a complaint about how early it was. After ten minutes I had everyone in the middle of the cell room. I began to count to make sure that everyone was there. I couldn't figure out why I kept counting eight. Who was missing? I knew that whoever was missing was a guy. And it wasn't Eric, he was still in his cell sleeping. I finally remembered who it was.
"Where's Alfie?" I asked.
"He's in his cell," Someone replied.
I somehow remembered that Alfie's cell was on the second floor, but I didn't know which cell exactly. When I got to the second floor, I went to the right side, and found that his cell was the first one. I stood in the doorway. Alfie was sitting on his bed, gun in hand. Staring down at it. I remembered that Alfie was the youngest. He was silent, I could only wonder what he was thinking. I didn't know what to say, or what to do.
"For my whole life, my biggest fear has been going to war." Alfie said without looking up. "My Grandpa used to tell me stories about how he fought in Vietnam." He looked up at me. "You'd think that he'd run out of stories to tell, unfortunately that wasn't the case."
I could barely process what he was telling me.
Aflie looked back down at his gun. "To this day, I can still hear his voice in my head. Echoing the same words that he used to tell the stories."
I sat next to him.
"I don't know if I can do it," Alfie said.
"Look, I'm scared too, just remember that you have twenty lives to back you up." I didn't sound very good, but it was the best I could come up with. "So even if you die, you'll be okay."
"Yeah, but, Lord Hacker is just so strong and he seems to know what he's doing. None of us have really been in a situation like this in real life." He remarked.
"But this isn't real life," I reminded him. "Were stuck in roblox remember? We can use our experience to our advantage."
Eric pondered that
"So, are you ready to go to war?" I asked him.
He nodded. We went downstairs to join the others. Some of them were talking about battle strategies, others were talking about random stuff. I had begun to talk about battle strategies with Pedro and Iris, but I still felt like I was forgetting something.
"Uh, guys?"
Eric! That was who I was forgetting. I walked over to his cell, he saw me, and looked at the table on the other side of the cell. His gun was sitting on it, but attached to it was a sticky note. I walked over, and tore it off. When I turned around, Iris and Pedro were standing in the doorway.
"It says: I heard about your leg. Lol -Lord hacker." I read.
"Why is he so rude," Iris asked.
"Cause that's what hackers do, they hack and make rude comments." I responded.
"Um, Matias, the sun is about to rise." Pedro reminded me.
"Then, We'll deal with this later." I crumpled up the sticky note and threw on the floor. "But right now, we have a battle to win."
Iris and Pedro left the cell.
"We'll be back later," I told Eric before leaving the cell.
I got all of the other player's attention, and soon enough, we were approaching the battlefield. As I walked to the gate at the front of the prison, I looked to my right. The sun was rising above the trees.
The battle had started.
