Prologue
As the streets of Redgrave city bustle about, a 10 year old boy by the name of (Y/n) is headed to the park. He couldn't stand his brothers' loud personalities sometimes, so heading to the park with his books was not uncommon for him. (Y/n) smiled to the other people he passed by.
Redgrave city wasn't exactly the nicest city in the world, it had one of the highest crime rates and was the center for mercenary work in the US, but the people who lived there were still fairly friendly with each other. (Y/n) was fairly well known by the people here, beings as he often showed up to bail his brothers out of trouble or clean up afterwards and make sure no one was too badly hurt. His confidence and kindness meant that he was also fairly well liked, and most of them knew exactly where he was going.
Once (Y/n) reached the park, he sat down and started reading his book. It was a collection of poetry given to him by his father.
After reading it for several minutes, he noticed a strange energy in the air: Demons. He put his book away and got out his sword, Yamato, ready to defend himself. The first few demons who attacked looked like insects, and a bigger one as well.
(Y/n) began slicing through the smaller ones and dodging around the big one. (Y/n) watched in amazement as when he dodged a leaping attack from the big demon, it accidentally killed one of the smaller ones. Focusing his concentration, (Y/n) preformed an attack his father had taught him: Judgement Cut End. He stood still for 3 seconds as the giant insect pried it's talons out of the ground and approached (Y/n) slowly, before (Y/n) drew his sword and cut all around him in a massive radius, shredding all the demons, the shrubs nearby, and the bench he was sitting on, before sheathing his sword, grabbing his book, and sprinting back to his home.
When (Y/n) got back to his home, he found it set on fire. He searched the home finding no one inside as the building collapsed, before reaching the backyard and finding his mother's body. He fell to his knees over her and cried. The demons must have gotten to her.
As (Y/n) began to cry, he felt his mind split slightly. His human side continued to mourn his mother, while his demon side began to analyze the situation. If his mother was dead, then obviously the demons would have had to go through both of his brothers first, meaning they were probably dead as well. As his human side mourned the apparent loss of his brothers, his demon side began to go numb, attempting to cope. When his two sides finally realigned, (Y/n) knew what he had to do.
"I swear to you mom," (Y/n) lightly sobbed. "I will grow my power so that I can protect myself. I will find out who did this, and I will kill them."
That was 9 years ago. Now, (Y/n) is living in Japan, and attending Kuoh Academy. Despite being relatively popular amongst the women there, he kept to himself, sitting in the library for the most part and avoiding people. If you asked any of the teachers about him, most wouldn't know who you were talking about. Once the teacher remembered who he was, they wouldn't have anything bad to say, but they wouldn't have much to say at all, only that he was a good student who kept to himself. The only teachers who would have anything more to say would be the Kendo and Poetry teachers. The former, Ms. Rekoha, would say that he has excellent form, while the latter, Prof. Peach, would commend his creativity, but that was about it. No one really knew much about the young man. In contrast, asking the males about them would get you one of three responses, the first being that they didn't know him. The second, and more common of the two, was that he was a nice person, albeit pretty introverted, that kept to himself most of the time. The last response would be hatred, but this response was also from the perverted trio, who hated him because all the girls loved him. Regardless, (Y/n) was not a remarkable student, nor was he one who one would think had a secret, and with the varied hairstyles of most guys at the school, he didn't really stick out of a crowd, either. So (Y/n) was surprised, to say the least, when a fallen angel pretending to be a human asked him on a date.
(A/N: NEW PROJECT!!! Basically this book is my attempt at a... ahem... more mature book. I also want to get into writing fanfics for Highschool DxD, mostly since I haven't found many on here. Hope you guys enjoy this, see ya around. PEACE!"
