We never stopped talking. For my whole free period we just sat there and talked. Riley promised me he woudn’t tell anyone about me being gay, and I trust him to keep that promise.
We talked about our lifes, what we wanted to do in the future, what he likes to do in his free time and so much more. It turns out we have a lot in commen. I even missed lunch. We just stayed there and kept talking. It was until the bell for fifth period rang that I left. We did swap numbers though. What, did you seriously thought that I wuld leave without his number? Hell no.
My last 3 periods ended fast, thank god. I take out my books and put them in my locker before closing it and make my way to my car.
There aren’t any people on the parknglot. Most still have a class or already left. It’s still loaded with cars though. When I walk to my car, I suddenly hear someone call my name.
“Jake! Hey Jake, wait up!” I turn around and to my big surprise it’s Riley, who is now running towards me.
“Jake, hey. I was hoping I would catch you before you went home”.
I smile at him eventhough I’m confused. Why would he want to see me?
“Hey, what’s up?”
“I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out?” he asks and you can just see the hope in his eyes. How on earth can I say no to him when he’s looking at me like that? Besides, I enjoy being around him.
I smile at him. “Sure”. My parents won’t care anyway. He smiles a very wide smile at me.
“Great! I was thinking to maybe get some coffee, then a walk through the park or something?” he asks a little uncertain.
“Yeah, sounds good” I assure him. He looked relieved with my answer.
“Shall we take my car?” I ask him while nodding towards my car.
“Yeah sure” he nods. We get into my car.
“Starbucks?” I ask im and he nods, giving me a small smile.
On the way there we just make some small talk. I notice I really like his company. It’s just so easy to talk with him. I feel save around him, and very calm. I feel like I can trust him, tell him everything, every little things that bothers me. not that I will, I only met him today! But still, I want to get to know him better. That’s why I said yes to go get coffee with him. I feel attracted to him, but I don’t know in what way. Maybe just because he’s gay, or maybe because there’s a slight chance I like him.
When we arrive at Starbucks, Riley gets out of my car first. I raise an eyebrow at that. What the hell? He runs aroud the car to open my door. I stare at him surprised. He just grins at me.
“Well, aren’t you a gentleman” I tease him when I get out. He blushes a little. Ahw, that is so cute! I just made him blush!
I still smile to myself when we walk towards Starbucks. When we enter, I notice there aren’t a lot of people. Well it is quit early still.
When we get to the counter, there’s this fake blond girl. When she sees us, the first thing she does is staring us up and down. Apperently I’m not her tpe when she turns her full attention to Riley.
“welcome to Starbucks. My name is Melany, how may I help you?” she aks him with a flirty grin. Talking about obvious. Riley just stares at her blankly. Poor girl doesn’t know he’s gay. Well, this is gonna be hilarious.
“I’ll just have a cappucino. What do you want, Jake?” turning his attention to me, instead of the girl. You can just sense her annoyance.
“I think I’ll have the same” I tell him with a smle. Okay, so maybe I like to annoy that girl a little more. She shouldn’t be trying so hard, though. If Riley was into her,he would’ve flirted back with her by now.
