Alfred was at work. His work? Being a country, America.

Y/N didn't mind it though. She loved Alfred, she loved with all her heart. He had told her about how he's immortal: about the fact he will always look young even though Y/N would age. She didn't want to die before him or age while he didn't. She also didn't want to give him up. When he asked her to marry him a year earlier, Y/N couldn't say no. She did love him. They had gotten married 2 months ago. She was now Y/N Jones. Even just the thought made you smile.

Y/N was sitting on their couch watching some RomCom the TV has on. Her mind kept drifting from it to the thought of Alfred, he should be coming home soon. He was an hour later then normal. She missed him acutely. He was alright, she was sure of it. The thought of something happening to him kept drifting into her mind. She pulled the blankets closer to her and pushed her back into the couch. She didn't just low key miss him anymore. She really wanted him to be next to her watching the RomCom with her.

It felt like another hour had pasted before the front door opened. A very tired looking Alfred walked in. He gave Y/N a weak smile before heading to his room and changing into pajamas. He came back to the living room and tucked himself under Y/N's blankets. Alfred wrapped his arms around Y/N, laying his head on her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around him and started to play with his blond hair.

"I missed you," Alfred muttered as his eyes fluttered shut. He has stoped paying attention to the movie playing on TV. He wanted this moment to last forever. Y/N's warmth filled him with happiness. Her fingers playing with his hair. He felt safe and relaxed. Sleep quickly came over him.

"I missed you too," Y/N giggled softly. Noticing her had fallen asleep she rested her head against his. "I love you, Alfred." Her eyes drifted shut as she too, fell asleep.
