Alfred looked defeated. "Is there any magic or something? Anything?"

"I don't think so," Arther replied. "There are a few things you can do." Alfred looked back at Arthur, his eyes lit up a little. "The best course of action, I think, would be watch and hope the sickness passes. I'll need to ask her something when she wakes up."

"It's been days, she isn't getting better," Alfred returned to his defeated look.

Y/N's eyes opened slightly hearing the voices. "Wha- Alfred?" She tried to sit up pushing her back against the wall. "Hello, Arthur."

"Hello, Y/N. How are you feeling?"

"Decent, the nausea is better." Y/N was managed to keep the pain out of her voice.

"Can you stand?"

Y/N tried, she slowly walked over to Arthur. He whispered something into her ear. She nodded then walked into the bathroom. Alfred was left completely in the dark. Y/N came back 10 minutes later looking shaken. She showed something to Arthur who took on the same shocked expression. Alfred, as always, had no clue what was happening. Francis and Matthew joined the circle of confusion. They then all looked over to Alfred.

"Come here," Arthur called to Alfred. He walked over and looked at the thing in Y/N's hand. A positive pregnancy test. He stood there shocked for a moment, the shock then turned to happiness. A small smile slid onto his face making eye contact with Y/N, her expression also happy. After a moment of joy, his smile faded into fear. His stomach twisted into knots.

The countries could have kids but their kids seldom survived. They would usually be stillborn but if they did survive past birth they lived their lives constantly sick. Alfred didn't want Y/N to have to go through that. He didn't want to watch a child to grow up knowing they could die at any moment. Their lives would be built on false hope.

The thing that terrified Alfred more was the fact that the pregnancy was very dangerous. Painful and complicated. The chances of the mother's survival were low. Y/N's death would kill Alfred.

"I'm sorry, Alfred," Matthew's voice came softly threw the frozen air. Even Francis stood there in shock and sorrow. Y/N had no clue why they all acted so sad. Her stomach was full of butterflies, yes, but they were caused by excitement and the nausea she still felt.

Warm arms wrapped around her waist. One of Alfred's arms made it's way to her head, his fingers brushed through her H/L H/C hair. Warm tears dripped onto her shoulder. Why did he seem so sad. When Alfred broke the hug she made her way to the bed once more. He continued to stand with his brothers and Francis. They talked quietly for a moment before Arthur turned to Y/N and started to explain the risks. All those thoughts that had rushed through Alfred's head started to fill Y/N's. The fear took her as well. The world started to blur as tears fell down her cheeks.
