Abigail stretched her arms as she turned underneath the white sheets to see Ian sleeping soundly besides her. She and Emily had come over for dinner the night before but ended up sleeping over because it was raining heavily outside, it wasn't safe to drive them back home. Not that she was complaining, that was the perfect excuse to wake up next to him again in the morning. She took this moment to study his handsome features. He was just so perfect, almost too good to be true. She laid there, taking him all in with her eyes.
“You don't get tired of staring at me, do you?”, he mumbled as he lazily cracked one eye open before closing it again, her lips turned up into a smile
“You were awake this entire time?”
“I'm giving you a chance to enjoy the view”, he responded, his voice hoarse before he chuckled. He then pulled her closer to him and kissed her forehead. “Good morning sweetheart”
They locked eyes. “Good morning”, she smiled at him and cuddled closer to his chest.
“Now this I could get used to”, he whispered as she bought her face closer to his
“So can I”, he leaned to connect their lips together before she rolled on her back, and he got on top of her and kissed her so passionately, she practically ran out of breath
When he withdrew his lips from hers and began kissing her neck, she bit her lip, suppressing a moan as she closed her eyes while running her hand up and down his back whilst the other fisted his hair. His touch sent shivers down her spine. Her stomach did all sorts of twists and turns. He gave her goosebumps.
“How about we burn a few calories before breakfast?”, he wiggled his eyebrows at her, and she laughed lightly. Her laugh had its way of warming his soul. It's like the world stopped revolving for a second. She noticed him looking at her with a smile on his face. His smile was contagious, she couldn't help but to smile back.
“What?”
“I love you Abbie”, he noticed the smile on her face fade for a second
“You know that's the first time you've said that to me in person”, she giggled before he playfully rolled his eyes. Ian been never the type to play with other people feelings. He only said those words when he meant them. He loved her, he was certain of that. She bought out the best in him.
“I should have told you a long time ag-”, he was interrupted by Abigail claiming his lips with hers once more.
“I love you too”, she whispered against his lips, and she could feel him smile before pecking her on the lips again. He entwined their fingers together and held her hand.
“I'll always do everything in my utmost power to make you happy, I promise”, he kissed the back of her hand, she flushed red as he leaned to her again, closing the space that separated them before pulling the covers over them
Abigail was still drafting some study notes for one of the modules she was writing later that week. It was a tough one, she even wondered how she got good grades for it. She didn't hear anything during the lectures. Even when she was studying, she didn't understand some procedures, but made sure she knew them by heart.
“When are we going to see him again?”, Emily suddenly asked as she focused on the drawing she was colouring
“Him who?”, she asked as she paged through her textbook
“Ian”, Emily paused to look at her, finding Abigail's gaze on her before her lips turned into a smile. Abigail frowned as she scratched the back of her neck. This was the conversation she was avoiding by all costs to have, but the time had come to tell Emily where she and Ian stood and how it would involve her.
