It all now made sense. His mother was behind Abigail leaving him all along. She didn't even try to deny it. It all made sense why he could never find her, it's all because of her. Angie separated them and kept them apart for as long as she possibly could. After all those years of being devastated, she knew all along and comforted him, telling him how inconsiderate Abigail was for leaving just like that with their unborn baby. She watched him crumble before her eyes and she pretended she felt sorry for him. All that's she had done he was convinced she was doing it because she loved him as her son.....but it was because of her own selfish desires.

“So it was you?”, he took a step closer to her, and she took a step back

“I did everything I did for you, to protect you”, she sounded sincere, careful not to give away that her voice was indeed shaking

“Is that supposed to make me feel better? That you ruined my life to protect me?”, he spat, the older woman's eyes glowing with tears from her sons words, piercing through her.

“Abigail was not good for you, she still isn't. She's just a gold-digging whor-”

“Don't you ever talk about Abigail like that. You don't even know her”, Ian quickly interrupted, earning a sharp mocking scoff from Angie.

“Abigail doesn't deserve my son”, she spat at the young man

“And yet your son can't seem to stay away from her”, he turned to the other man in the room. “What were you expecting when you lured her into your bedroom? That's she'll come back to you with a snap of a finger?”

“You have no idea what you're talking about”, Austin replied through gritted teeth

“You took advantage of her when she was most vulnerable-”

“You slept with her?”, Mira's voice interrupted him from continuing as tears pricked her eyes when she looked at her husband. A sharp pain went through her chest as she held her breath. “Is that what happened?”, her voice broke as a tear slid down her cheek.

“It's not what you think”, his trying to reason his action caused her whole body to lack strength. She felt lightheaded before her vision blurred, and she collapsed on the floor. Austin caught her body in time.

“Mira?”, Angie tried to shake her awake, but she was unresponsive. She had fallen unconscious. “Hurry Austin, we need to take her to the hospital”

After Mira got admitted, Angie tried reconciling with her son, but he was done with her. He would never believe anything that came out of her mouth and she could also see it. They both stood up at the doctor approached them.

“She's going to be okay. We performed a medical examination and her vitals seem good. She'll be discharged at the end of the day”, he gave a brief smile.

“What about the baby?”, Austin asked and watched as the doctors eyebrows arch in confusion

“I'm sorry but, what baby are you talking about?”

“My wife told me she is pregnant”, he tried to explain as he grew more confused by the situation

“It was probably a false positive”, he blinked repeatedly in surprise before he gave a small smile

“She told me she was about five to six weeks along”, he watched as the doctor shake his head slowly

“Your wife isn't pregnant Mr Jenkins, it would have shown up in her blood samples”, his heart sank as he gave a nod of understanding

“Thanks, Doc”, he watched as the doctor give a short nod before excusing himself. He turned to his mother. “Are you also in on this? This lie of trapping me with a non-existent baby?”
