Bakugo gets a Quirk

Blades of grass danced across the feet of a small green haired boy. He reached down to pick up the ball he dropped and threw it back to his angry blonde friend. As they played, the green haired boy continued to drop the ball causing the other to get even angrier. The blonde couldn't take it anymore and threw the ball as hard as he could at his friend. It hit him in the shoulder and rolled down the hill stopping right next to the water.

"Go get my ball back!"

"I dunno Kacchan the hill is pretty steep."

Kacchan came over and picked him up by his shirt. He faced him to the water and set him down at the edge of the hill, "Deku, go get my damn ball back right now."

Deku slowly backed away from the edge bumping into Kacchan. Kacchan took his sweaty hand and slapped him hard in the back, but as his hand touch an explosion sent Deku flying down the hill. His head smacked against a rock and his body fell into the water.

"What the hell was that," Kacchan said looking down at his hand, quickly snapping out of it when his friend started to get swept away in the water. He rushed down the hill chasing after him, screaming for help as he ran.

"Deku," he screamed getting closer to a bi-colored hair boy. He had noticed the commotion and saw a broccoli looking head coming towards him in the water. He quickly activated his quirk creating a wall of ice that caused Deku to come to shore. Kacchan had caught up and pulled Deku out of the water pushing the ice wielder to the side.

Deku coughed a bit but his eyes remained closed. There was blood coming down from his forehead where he hit the rock.

"I called for an ambulance, what happened?"

Kacchan didn't respond but flipped Deku over looking at a huge burn on his back. A faint hand print could be seen in the scar.

"That looks pretty bad. Here let me keep it cool until help arrives." He took Deku out of Kacchan's hands and set him in a nook of ice he made.

"It's all my fault," Kacchan cried looking at his hands.

The ambulance showed up and took all three boys to the hospital. Deku was in critical condition since he lost a lot of blood. Kacchan had a few stitches on his leg that he cut on some shrubbery while running after Deku. The bi-colored hair boy was just a little cold and was given a blanket. The two boys were placed in Deku's room waiting for their parents to arrive.

"I'm Shoto Todoroki by the way."

"Katsuki Bakugo, and that is Izuku Midoriya," he said pointing to the hospital bed.

Right after introductions three moms burst into the room. Inko came running over to the bed placing her hand on Izuku's bandaged head. Mitsuki and Rei following close behind her. The doctor took the moms out of the room and explained to them that Izuku was going to be fine, but wouldn't wake up for a bit. His back was going to be very sensitive for a long while due to the burn. He explained that they would keep Izuku in a coma like state for a few days for the pain to die down then wait from him to wake up on his own after that.

"Inko," Mitsuki said bringing her into a hug.

"Don't worry this was an accident and I don't blame your son. I just hope he makes a fine hero some day with his exciting quirk," Inko said trying to smile. She then looked at Rei, "and your son too. I heard his quick thinking helped lesson the damage to Izuku's back."

Rei brought a slight smile to her mouth and nodded.

The next few days Katsuki and Shoto visited Izuku. It was clear to Shoto that Katsuki blamed himself for what happened and it was very hard on him. Shoto made an effort to keep close to him. 'The stress he must be feeling. Hurting someone the first time you got a quirk. It must have been hard,' Shoto thought to himself.

Every visit Shoto would sit next to Katsuki and pull his head onto his shoulder. Katsuki would fight back at first but slowly take it. Shoto would pet his ash blonde locks. A few times Katsuki would silently cry on his shoulder. Shoto never said anything but would keep petting him.

Day five of Izuku in the hospital.

"Has the doctor said anything?" Shoto asked just arriving from school to see Katsuki resting his head on Izuku's bed.

"He said a few more days. Now that there is nothing in his system keeping him asleep."

Day seven of Izuku in the hospital.

'I haven't seen half n half in two days and Izuku hasn't woken up yet,' Katsuki thought to himself, 'where the hell did he go.'

"Hurry and wake up stupid Deku."

"Ka...cchan?"

"Deku?!"

His green eyes were opened and looking around the room.

"HEY DOCTOR HE'S FINALLY UP," Katsuki yelled running towards the nurse's station.

The doctor came in and examined Izuku. Nodding in approval he called his mother letting her know he would be discharged tomorrow.

The next morning Inko came in to her sons room smiling. His eyes went wide when he saw her. Tears streamed from his eyes.

"Mom," he cried as she ran over and hugged him.

Izuku had slowly remembered what happened to him. He remembered falling down a hill but not much besides that. "My back," he groaned and Inko let go of him. He drifted in and out of sleep until his discharged paper work was finished.

Inko pulled her car up so the nurses could help Izuku into the car to go home.

"Did the doctor say anything about my quirk?"

"Nothing yet sweetie you'll just have to wait and see."
