What if there was a girl
A girl who was strong
A girl who was brave
A girl who wasn't afraid to fight for what she believed in
A girl who stood up for the rights of the destitute
A warrior
What if there was a girl
A girl who was an advocate
A girl who spoke her mind
A girl who gave the voiceless a voice
A girl who always protected others
A defender
What if there was a girl
A girl loved by everyone
A girl clothed in strength and dignity
A girl who laughed without fear of the future
The woman I strive to be
I want to be accepted, like her
I want to be loved like her
I want to love like her
I want to be like her
Heck, I want to be her
Every morning when I wake up
I say to myself
"What would she do?"
What would the girl who haunts my dreams do?
For she is the woman I strive to be
