The way up to the abandones castle was lit up by a trail of fairy lights on either side of the path.
It was supposed to rain that night but the sky was clear, millions of stars visible over the monumental building.
The abandones castle itself was full of fairy lights and candles all around the place and music was blasting from the inside. Screams and shouts could be heard, drowned by the music and the laughter.
Even from a distance, the alcohol could be smelt, probably having been spilled everywhere.
Walking in meant being shoved around the entrance by drunk teenagers until you reached the inside. There were beer pong tables set out where kids shouted happily every time they made a shot, a crowd cheering along with them as they stood around the table.
In the other room the shelves were lined with bottles of liquor, empty and full, dozens of crates of beer and five large barrels.
If you continued up the stairs, a large room decorated with black light and neon signs awaited. Beanbags spread across the floor as a group of kids smoked and chatted.
Outside is where everyone was going wild. A large pool filled with people laughing and splashing everywhere. A group of the younger teenagers was playing cards as they sat by the pool, wearily looking around at the scene.
Overall it seemed like a normal high school party, but the idea that the killer could be present or show up at any minute was enough to have everyone nervously watching their backs the whole night.
