A/N: Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! This first chapter was just designed to build this up, same thing with the second chapter, but expect TWICE x Reader action in the future chapters for sure. Thanks for reading!

POV 1: [Y/N] Recording

Hello, I'm [Y/N] [L/N], the date is December 4th, 2020, my birthdate is May 28, 1999, and I am currently living in an apartment in the Songpa District in Seoul, South Korea. It's been six weeks since the second wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, and three weeks since Seoul has been ravaged by mass looting, and the infected. I am lucky to still have the ability to speak to you over this voice recorder, and record my story through my various electronic devices, thanks to the solar generator I am very fortunate to have. Even then, the solar generator only provides me basic electricity. Before this outbreak, I served as a US Navy Seal stationed in South Korea. I lost contact with the Department of Defense and my superiors three days after mass looting in Seoul began, and the number of infected around the world began to skyrocket. Since then I have been gathering information and observing the situation, for what reason, I don't know. When the mass looting in Seoul began, it wasn't long before the rest of the world followed. When the internet died, Tokyo and San Francisco were in flames, so I assume most of the world is in the same state Seoul is in, but I've been taught to be optimistic, and so I will continue the work I've done so far.

I'm not a scientist but from the information I've gathered with the tools I have at my disposal, the second wave of COVID-19 infections evolved within those with mental illnesses to turn them into hyper aggressive, bloodthirsty monsters. Transmission of the newly mutated disease, which based on radio chatter from two weeks ago was being called COVID-20, requires bodily fluids of any sort to be transferred into the person's body in a liquid form. This, combined with the aggressive nature of those infected, and the incubation period of one minute, made the virus much easier to transmit. Based on my observations so far, it seems that the infected do not attack each other, and are not functioning human beings with a pulse.

If anyone from the future sees this, please know that this disease spread as much as it did, because of our mistakes. We ignored how dangerous it could actually be, and exhausted mentally from the first wave, we allowed ourselves to let this second wave get to the point that it did. Learn from our mistakes, and consider yourselves ridiculously lucky to even be alive to watch this, because if this happens again, there's no saying if luck will be on humanity's side. Hell, there's no saying if luck is even on our side right now. I plan to keep recording weekly or even daily, in the hopes that someone finds these recordings and puts them to use, maybe I'll even include updates on my living situation so people get perspective on how humanity lived during this time. I don't know yet, I just feel like this is something that I should do to contribute to any semblance of a future if this thing boils over. Anyways, signing out.

POV 2: [Y/N]

My apartment complex has been emptied, either by tenants evacuating, or through tenants being infected with the disease. Those infected have been....killed, their blood is on my hands. My apartment being on the top floor has allowed me to put my solar panels on the roof of the building, allowing me to generate the electricity needed to charge the electronics I'm currently using, including the batteries for the camping lamps I'm using, and my plasma sword (Think Lightsaber, except you can't block bullets, only melt them with the metal splattering on you, and is only for cutting through super thick things). I elected not to try and power the existing lights, as it would attract too much attention, and that is the last thing I would want.

It was now 7:33 PM and I decide to have a meal, consisting of two cans of Vienna Sausage, which seemed like a buffet considering the situation at hand. I open the cans and immediately chow down, going through the two cans in what seemed like mere seconds. Immediately after, I conducted a cataloging of the food supplies I had left, which consisted of eight cans of spam, four cans of corned beef, three cans of Vienna Sausage, surprisingly, seven cans of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup and four MRE's. With this low of a supply, I can't afford to eat three times a day anymore, or I'd run out of food in around a week. Due to this, I decide to eat only two times a day from now on, stretching the supply to about thirteen days, assuming I don't over eat.

Either way, I had to plan out my strategy for getting more food, such a low calorie intake for any period longer than three weeks was unsustainable and would hinder my ability to combat the infected and any unsavory behavior by desperate humans. My apartment was in the Pungnap Dong neighborhood, on the border of the Gangdong district, this location made supply gathering much harder due to the population density, and was filled with infected. In most cases, especially in movies, people say to move in the day, but with such a dense population, it's better to move at night, especially if you have Night Vision Goggles like I do.

Moving further into the Songpa District was more dangerous, due to the fact that I would have to cross through the tallest building in South Korea, and arguably what was the District Center, and moving across the bridge meant turning myself into a sitting duck. So there was only one option, go into Gangdong District, using Toseong Road which connects to the major throughway which was Gangdong-Daero. Moving anywhere in Seoul was dangerous as hell, but this route for gathering supplies was much safer than the others, due to it being a straight line movement with lots of cover, allowing me to use Olympic Park to move parallel to the road as I looted the buildings on the major road. I'll head out tomorrow at sundown, carrying the MP5 I looted off of a dead Korean National Police officer, my plasma sword, and the rest of my military gear, including my M50 gas mask.

By the time I fully planned out my movements for tomorrow's supply run, it was 10 PM, time to head to bed. I grabbed my K5 pistol and went out to check on the barricades I had set up in my apartment complex, especially the one on the door which opened to the row of apartments on my floor. Once that was over, I went back to my apartment and secured the barricades, including the new metal door I installed. Once that was over, I finally went over to bed, putting my pistol on my nightstand. All this security gave me a little peace of mind in these uncertain times, and peace of mind was exactly what let me sleep at night, especially with how SEAL training turned me into a security nut.

The Next Day...

I woke up at nine in the morning, but seeing as I didn't plan on doing anything the entire day besides go on a supply run, I slept in until noon. At noon, I got up to immediately begin preparing for the supply run. First, I prepped all the ammunition I would possibly need for the fight loading nine millimeter bullets into five K5 pistol magazines, and three magazines for my MP5. I loaded my backpack with all of the MRE's as well, and all the cans of Vienna Sausage just incase I got trapped inside a building for a couple of days, which knowing how swarmed the area is, has a high chance of happening.

After finishing my preparations, I took out a can of corned beef, and a can of spam and cooked it on the electric stove hooked up to the generator, preparing both my lunch and my dinner for the night. The walk to the end of Gangdong Daero from my apartment would take thirty minutes one way, if I didn't stop to loot, so I planned on being out until midnight, meaning I had to have dinner ready to be eaten while moving on my supply run. I planned only to check out the buildings nearest to the road, to make the supply run less complicated, but even then, I expected for it to take me awhile.

By the time I was all ready to leave, it was already five thirty, twenty eight minutes past sun down. I immediately got on my backpack, loaded all my weapons, and after securing all the barricades to the floor of my apartment, went to the ground floor of the complex, exiting the building to trek out into the city. I just hoped I would come back alive.
