The Second Wave | Twice x Reader

Chapter 4

Author's Note: I hope you guys are enjoying this story so far. I'm stuck between either writing longer chapters (3000+ Words) and taking longer to update, or updating more frequently with chapters that are 1500-2500 words. Most of the chapters so far have been under 3000 words, but I feel longer chapters may be better. What do you guys think? Comment what you think. Thanks! Hope you enjoy! 

POV: Y/N

I slowly awakened to the feeling of weight on both sides of my arms, curious as to what it was, I opened my eyes to find Nayeon and Sana clinging to me, their heads resting on where my arm and shoulder were connected. I slowly disengaged my arms from their tight hold, in an effort to try and not wake them up. Upon succeeding, I slowly moved towards the door, opening it to reveal Tzuyu out in the hallway.

"You're awake too huh." She commented.

"I am. How long have you been awake?" I asked her.

"I don't know. There wasn't any sunlight when I woke up though." 

"How'd you wake up?" I continued my questioning.

"I thought I heard one of them, so I went out here to keep watch." She replied.

"Without a weapon? What would've happened if they went in here?" I asked, genuinely concerned. I knew these infected were no joke, they had unlimited stamina, and could go on full sprint for an infinite period of time as a result.

"I could just run in the room, while screaming." She shrugged me off. I glared intensely at her, and she looked away.

"I know that you probably didn't want to wake us up, over what might've been nothing, so you took it upon yourself to keep watch, but do it safely. What would happen if there was an infected, and you couldn't run into the room fast enough." I scolded her as lightly, as I possibly could. I understand where she was coming from, but she still had to understand. 

"I'm sorry Y/N, I'll be safer next time." She replied. I smiled at her and offered my hand to help her up, she continued, "Y/N, do you think you could find me a weapon, and teach me how to use it? I want to be able to help you." 

"Are you sure you can handle the mental willpower needed to kill one of those things?" I asked her. She nodded at me, I could see the conviction in her eyes.

"I want to be able to help you and pull my weight, since you're taking us with you." She replied, her conviction could be heard through the tone of her words.

"Ok. Let's go back in, and wake up the rest of them, we can go do that then." I tell her. We both walk back in the room, and she and I shake every member of TWICE awake. Understandably, it took awhile to wake them up, anyone wouldn't be able to sleep soundly if they were sleeping in that break room, but Tzuyu and I were able to get them all awake and ready to listen. 

"So here's the plan.." I began explaining the strategy I had to get all ten of us back to my apartment. The plan had two phases, the first of which was improvised as a result of my interaction with Tzuyu. I revealed to them how low food supplies were, and because of that Tzuyu and I would be going on a supply run in order to grab as much supplies as possible. After we got back from our supply run, we would begin our trek back to the apartment.

"Why are you only going with Tzuyu?" Sana asked the first question, she clearly was disappointed that she couldn't come.

"Because, none of you have weapons currently, which means I'd have to protect all nine of you if we all went for supplies." I continued, "Tzuyu volunteered to go, so that she could get a weapon, and so she's coming with me on the supply run."

It seems that while they were dissatisfied with the reason, they were accepting of it. I feel bad for Tzuyu for what happened after though.

"So....Tzuyu is gonna be the first one to go on a date with Y/N?" Nayeon asked, a smirk on her face indicating her intentions.
