Chapter 1 //Frienemies//

Tobe POV
I was walking around sooga town trying to find Garu. I hear rapid footsteps behind me and when I turned around I see her, Pucca, She stops right in front of me and asks where Garu was. I shrugged replying with
"I'm not sure. I'm looking for him aswell" she huffs and I take a few steps back
"H-He said him and I could have a re-match!" I stuttered out. She crossed her arms and pouted. She than walks off into that noodle restaurant. I'm not going to lie but..they make the best ramen ever! It's better than what ring ring and them make. It's a horrible taste. I turn back around and run in the direction of Garu's house. As soon as I get their I hear bamboo trees hitting the ground and a soft thud and heavy breathing. I turn around and take a few steps back as I see Garu in front of me. I stop and look at him. He was looking down and on all fours, panting heavily and sweating like crazy,obviously exhausted. I hear rapid footsteps and a fain giggle. Garu looked up and saw me. He tried getting up but was too tired. 'Huh. He's exhausted. I could..kill him right now but Pucca's coming. I need to hide him them!' I pick him up and he instantly falls asleep 'Oh no.. *sighs* fine then' I start running back to my place as I knew she wouldn't go there...well I hope so.
A few minutes later

I arrive at my place and I place him on my bed. I sigh and sit on the floor next to my bed. I take off my mask and undo my ponytail. I soon after fall asleep.
Two or three hours later

I wake up and yawn looking around. Garu was still asleep on my bed and the ninja's weren't back. I stand up and slit back my hair only for some to come back in my face. I groan and shake my head. I take a few steps forwards but feel something grab my hand softly. I quickly turn around and I see Garu looking at me still half asleep. He sits up and yawns, letting go of my hand to rub his eyes. I clear my throat and straighten my posture "y-you were very exhausted a-and Pucca was chasing you.. y-you were gonna get up and run but you fell asleep..s-so I..carried you to my place" I stuttered out. I blushed softly and looked away a little from embarresment // and how G A Y that sounds//
Garu clears his throat and I turn back to look at him. He lifts my mask in front of my face. I try to put my hair in a ponytail again but I fail. I tried it three more times and failed. Groaning in annoyance I give up and just take my mask. Garu gripped the mask and I sighed looking at him
"May I have my mask back?" He shakes his head and stands up. He walks behind me and turns me around sitting me on the ground. He sits on my bed and puts my hair into a ponytail very gently. I blush softly but it quickly disappears once he finished. I stand up and thank him before putting on my mask. He stands up and smiles warmly at me as a 'I should thank you' I rub the back of my neck and lead him out the door. "Y-you're welcome. You may leave now!" I respond and close the door. Before it fully shut he grabbed the door and opened it wide so he can see me fully. I huffed and crossed my arms.
"What now?" A hint of confusion mixed with annoyance filled my voice. He reaches his hand out for a handshake and asks for truce. I look at him with wide eyes and pull him aside away from the door and hide him from the ninja's coming back with nothing but bruises and bloody noses. I groan at the sight but hide Garu from then. Once they were out of sight and grab Garu by the shoulders and look at him with a stern expression.
"Are you joking? If you are than alright. If not then I can not allow it. The ninja's would be heartbroken! You've seen how they reacted when I said that the first time. Remember?" He nods and looks down with a sad expression. It hurt me for some reason and I cleared my throat letting go of his shoulders. I grab his hand and shake it
"F-fine.. truce..." I look away but I hear him giggle a little. I let go of his hand and I walk inside
"Goodbye.. Garu" I smile softly and I watch him bow and run back to his own house.
"Who were you talking to Master Tobe?" I turn around almost slapping one of the ninja's in the face as he caught me by surprise.
"N-no one! Go eat than go to bed now.." I reply quickly and watch as he bows and returns to the group. I follow soon after with a softly smile, chuckling to myself.
