Chapter 14 : Fire & Lightning

Karenina's POV 

I've been learning magic for quite a few months now and I'm sorta good at it ? Other than that , things with Neil are going great as well . He is just been the sweetest , he takes me out to movies and dinners and even my parents like him , so what he is in training for meditation ? We all need to meditate for a minute or two in this rollercoaster of a life . Whenever I insisted on learning to meditate , he always say the same thing , "babe , I'm still in training so I do not want to break your spleen accidentally" and I always answer , "maybe you're worth the broken spleen" . He just gushes and can't help but to kiss me a million times cause I am so freaking adorable even my dad wants to puke ! 

I'm entering the Abyss's mansion and just put my bag on the couch like it's my home , technically it is but I still refuse to have dinner with my biological parents or even stay the night , cause I'm still getting to know them and I'm just plainly not ready . I walk into the backyard and I see Jerrie doing some kickboxing , topless . I must say , he has quite a very toned upper body and as he releases a  punch , those biceps are just showing off . He's really in the zone cause he didn't even see me walking towards him but I remain a distance cause I do not want to get punched by those guns . "Releasing some stress Jerrie ?" , he finally sees me and stops his routine and pants , "Tater Tots ! Well , not exactly but you could say so" , "what's the matter big guy ?" , I hit his arm and I think I might've broken my knuckles . "Just some personal stuff , I guess" . I immediately think of girls stuff cause girls can really put some whirl some stress in a guy , " you see Jerrie , girls really could not make up their minds ! I do not know why , but they just have to think of everything else and forgot what is in front of them" . He fold his arm and look at me strangely , "so are you telling me that even you have difficulties to make up your mind ?" , I look at him as if he is stupid , " do I look manly to you , Jerrie ?" , he laughs so hard and I continue , " I am especially in a rut if it's between tacos and burritos ! I mean tacos are the best if you want some crunch but the melted cheese in a burrito is just..yum ! I can end up at that bistro for half an hour just to pick a lunch" , he laughs even more but this is a really serious matter but I do see the nonsense in it , so I laugh along . This feels nice , laughing with a friend about nothing . " You're cool , Tater Tots" , he say while nudging my shoulder and I feel this comfort and flutter in my stomach that makes my cheeks blush . I quickly snap out of it cause with a tight body like that , both my mothers will have cheeks like fire trucks , so I sit down on the grass and start another conversation , " you know , why do you even bother train to fight and build this physical strength when you have powers that can easily defeat your opponent ?" , I look up to him and the view of him from below is just too mesmerising , I stand up back . " Okay , of course we might have the advantage of magic , but how long can we hold our magic up ? If you're dead beat on the floor , your stamina is low , you can't even fight for more than 10 minutes . If you're up against another witch or warlock , but if you're fighting a mugger or a big bully then just wave your hands back and forth , that'll take them" . I just realised that Jerrie's from Nebula coven and he has been training since young to fight us , he looks me up and down and says , " or even you , I'll just shake my fingers and you'll easily pass out" , I drop my jaw , "how dare you ! And how are you doing that ? You're gonna beat me with spirit fingers ?" , I say while doing the spirit fingers . He stands right in front  of me , and pull out his index finger and move it downwards . My knees suddenly bend down and I try to persuade him so I look into his eyes and only my eyes flashes with gold , why is that ? He couldn't help but to laugh , " oh poor Tater Tots , don't you know we can only persuade non-witches ? I do magic so I can't be persuaded" , he walks away and leave me there kneeling down . I put out a little smirk , "then I'll just witch it then" , I immediately throw my hands up in the air and Jerrie was floating , "what in the hell ? Hey ! Put me down ! Seriously ?" , I just look at him with an attempt of puppy eyes , "why Jerrie ? Are you afraid of heights ?" , "you're gonna get it Tater Tots !" . He throw a little ball of electricity at me and it hurt my hand , as if I was electrecuted . I pull in my hands and he fell down to the ground , I walk up to him and yell , " that wasn't fair ! You could've kill me !" , "Oh come on Tater Tots , it's just a little ball of lightning , you're still alive aren't you ? Don't be such a drama queen ?" , I widen my eyes and figured out a better way to get back at him . "You're right , I mean a little fire wouldn't hurt" , I snapped my finger and the bottom of his pants are burning with little flames . He look down and scream , "Shit !" , he tries to put it out with his shoes but it would not put out cause , duh ! I'm controlling it . Then I hear Lionel calling me so I walk away and clap my hands to put out the fire . He's relieved that he still has his a quarter of his pants on , "you could've burn me alive Tater Tots !" , I look back at him and extend my arms wide , "oh come on , don't be so dramatic Jerrie , you're still alive aren't you ?" .

a/n : not much happening in this chapter but it'll get better ! both of them are just trying to get to know eachother and sparks fly bla bla bla . Leave a comment and vote ! Hope you enjoy :)
