I flop onto my bed and pull out my phone, holding it above my face. I scroll through Instagram liking pictures, then I hear voices passing my room. I got up and ran to the door to catch whoever was passing by. My head poked out and looked both ways, then I noticed Leo and Dante chatting at the end of the hall.

I called out to them, " Hey, what are you guys doing?"

Leo looked back and yelled, "We're exploring Chicago!"

I gave him a thumbs up and walked back into my room, once again jumping on my bed Then I started thinking about what Leo said. Maybe I could go explore Chicago as well, I have nothing else to do. I load my pistol and put it in my belt and look in the mirror, adjusting my red leather jacket. As soon as I was satisfied with how I looked, I grabbed my phone and left my room and locked the door. Surprisingly the hall was empty, then I heard faint giggling. I looked left and saw Beau and Ivy headed my way from the end of the hall. I let out a sigh and quickly walked to the elevators to avoid them.

My sister and I aren't exactly on best terms ever since... well not long after we joined this gang. We used to be inseparable ever since we were born. When we turned 20, we wanted some adventure, so we joined the biggest gang and worked our way up to getting the rank of underboss. Ivy was so excited when she found out she got promoted, that she barged in my room and all happiness drained from her face when she saw what was happening. She slammed the door shut and to this day I regret not locking my door and disappointing her. I ran after her to explain, and she didn't want to talk to me, but because she doesn't want me killed, she agreed to keep my secret. But she never forgave me since that day. She goes out of her way to avoid me, so I avoid her. So much for family, right? I snapped out of my thoughts and waited for the cars to finish passing so I could cross the busy street.

I finally cross the street and take in the beauty of Chicago. I put my hands in my jacket pockets for warmth. I keep forgetting how cold Chicago is. Leaves fly past my head and I deeply inhale the autumn smell. I passed a dark alley and my ears picked up the sounds of someone getting jumped. I turn back and take a peek, trying to see what's going on. I make out three large guys towering over two other guys. I creep towards them slowly and stealthily. There was a big dumpster so I ran towards it to hide behind it. When I realize who the two guys were, I try to get as close as possible.

"Come on, we didn't do anything wrong," Leo protests, "Leave us alone, man."

One of the three guys punched him in the face, then says, "You're part of the big gang, aren'tcha? Think you're so tough?"

He kicks Leo down and looks at Dante, "Well do ya?" he tries to swing at Dante but he quickly ducks and kicks the big guy's private part

"Yeah, I kinda do," Dante responds

Two guys started kicking and beating Leo, and one pulled out his knife and started slashing at him, while the other guy attempted to fight Dante, who's pretty swift. I quietly climb on the stack of crates behind the two guys.

"Hey boys, why don't you leave them alone?' I say as I aim my pistol at them

One guy laughed, "Whatcha gonna do sweetheart? Stand and look pretty?"

The other goons laughed and walked towards me. My cat-like agility kicked in and I jumped off the crates onto the dumpster behind Leo and Dante.

I look at the guys who I assumed were part of the other gang who's trying to take over my gang.
"Take one step closer and I'll shoot," I say as I point the gun at them once again

The middle guy laughed as he slowly stepped forward saying, "You won't shoot,"

Without thinking twice, I pulled the trigger and shot at his thigh. The guy screams in agony as he falls down holding his leg. His buddies hover over him and look at me.

I tilted my head, "Are you sure? Cause I'm pretty sure I just shot your leg,"

"You won't get away with this!" his buddy said pulling out his handgun

I smile and shoot him in the shoulder. He screams and holds his shoulder.

"You crazy bitch!" he yelled

"I know," I shrug as I jump off the dumpster, landing in front of my boys, "But I suggest you leave before I kill all three of you,"

I pushed the guy back with my gun on his chest. He gulped and looked at his buddies and they left the alley yelling empty threats. I put the pistol back in my belt and ran to Leo to examine his injuries. He had a black eye, a busted lip, and giant bruises and cuts all over his torso. I felt bad for him and helped him up. Meanwhile Dante only got away with bruised knuckles. Dante helps me carry him back to the base.

"So what happened? Did you guys not bring your guns or anything to protect yourself?" I asked, slightly disappointed in them

Dante was the first one to speak, "We didn't think we would need to protect ourselves since we weren't going to be out long."

Leo grunts, "What he said."

"You two are quite the geniuses," I say sarcastically, "Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities and y'all didn't think to bring weapons. Good fucking job."

We walked the rest of the way in silence and we dropped Leo on his bed.

"Don't move, I'll be back with my first aid kit." I tell Leo, "Dante, keep an eye on him,"

"Aye aye, captain," he responds

I walk out of the room and run down the hallway to my room. I quickly unlock my door and scan the room hurriedly trying to find the kit. I see it on my shelf and snatch it. I shut the door on my way out and ran back to Leo's room. The two "men" were chatting while I prepared the bandages and rubbing alcohol for Leo. Dante moves out of the way and I kneel next to Leo to treat his injuries. He winces and swats at my hands.

I groan, "Stop it, you big baby. I'm trying to help you,"

"I know, but that shit hurts like hell," Leo winces

I roll my eyes and continue to treat him. When I finished, I placed bandaids on his cuts and stood up.

Dante commented, "Wow, you do like getting on your knees, you haven't complained about them hurting this whole time," he throws in a wink

I gave him a death stare, "Aren't you too old to be making such childish jokes?"

He laughed, "Never,"

I rolled my eyes and looked at Leo, "Get some rest and be careful,"

He gave me a thumbs up and I walked back to my room. Once I got in I yawned and got ready for bed. I fell into a deep sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The next morning I woke up to an unexpected text. My heart dropped as I dropped my phone.
