Beastboy's P.O.V
"We have to go back out there!"
"We've checked everywhere Beastboy. Maybe she just isn't meant to be found." Robin responded plainly.
"Dude, she's part of the team. We can't just stop looking. We need to search more thoroughly. Maybe we missed something."
"We've already looked a thousand times. How many more is it going to take before you move on."
"Move on? I'm not going to just move on and leave her out there. I won't stop until she's found." I yelled.
I'm not going to give up! Despite what Robin says.
She has to be somewhere right? I'll find her. I'll do whatever it takes. Obviously Robin wouldn't help me, so I guess I'll find her on my own.
With that I set out, scanning the city for anything out of the ordinary. But, no matter how many times I checked, it was all the same.
I continued to look anyway. I searched for hours, but still nothing. In the gathering darkness I could feel her fading away. The longer it took, the less hopeful I was that she would ever be found. My Rae. Is there any hope?
I shook away the feeling. Yes, of course there is.
Maybe some sleep will clear my head. I can check again tomorrow.
I lay awake, restless. I couldn't sleep. Not knowing Raven was gone. I haven't gotten much sleep since that terrible day.
I willed myself to sleep. My body ached and begged for just a moment of relief, but my mind would not allow it. It was too focused on Raven. As it was every night.
Eventually, I did dose off into an troubled sleep.
Raven's P.O.V
What have I done? I looked down at my hands, covered in blood. Her mangled body on the floor next to me. I did that. Tears streamed down my face. She didn't deserve this. What is wrong with me?
Slade's voice rang through my head. You're just a monster. Maybe I am. Normal people don't do this.
But then it all stopped. No more tears fell. They were long gone now and replaced with nothing.
I couldn't feel anything anymore. Just emptyness.
--------------
TimeskipI'm never getting out of here.
Told you so.
You were right.
Of course I was. I'm always right.
As I was basking in my sorrows the wall burst open. I was blinded by the light. I shielded my eyes with my hands.
"Raven!" A voice said, full of longing.
I uncovered my eyes. "Beastboy?"
"Yes it's me. I finally found you!"
Beastboy's P.O.V
I felt happiness burning inside me. I finally found her. My other half. My Raven.
I looked down at the love of my life and frowned. She didn't look so good.
She looked very unkept. I can't really blame her though. She's been traped down here all this time. Her face was paler than usual. But what really suprised me were her eyes. They were dull and lifeless. It looked like the color was drained out of them.
I'll take care of her. Help her. She won't have to be in this horrible place any longer.
"Alright, let's get you home."
Confusion clouded her gaze. Is she okay?
She shook her head.
"It's okay. The others are taking care of Slade as we speak. You're safe now."
She nodded her head slowly, like she didn't fully believe me. Something was wrong. I just don't know what. I'll find out eventually.
I scooped her up into my arms. She shook a little at the contact. She seemed pretty skidish around people.
My breath caught in my throat. What if it's just me. Maybe she just didn't want me to save her.
Once I got her back to the tower she just sat there, staring at nothing.
The others weren't back yet so it was just us. I still had time.
I knew something was up. Now was the time to find out.
"Raven." I started.
She bit her lip and turned away. Okay. Something was definitely bothering her.
"How long was I gone?" She whispered, still not turning around.
"Five months." I answered after a few seconds.
She shook her head, eyes glued to the ground.
After a few minutes she tried to stand up. Her legs gave way. I caught her just as she was about to collapse.
"Thanks." She quickly muttered.
"Can you help me to my room?" I nodded and guided her there.
When she closed her door I waited in silence. I'm not sure for what exactly.
She seemed different. She's still Raven, but she barely even looked at me. Like less than usual. Not to mention the fact that she barely said a word.
I sighed in frustration. Maybe she just needs some time to herself. To get used to everything again. I could give her space. It's just so hard. She's finally back and all I want to do is talk to her. Make sure she's okay.
But as I put my hand on her door, I could feel my Rae slipping away, out of reach.
