Raven's P.O.V

He was going to risk his life for me. Me! I guess he really cares after all. I just hope he'll be okay.

He's strong. He can do it.

I then focused my attention back on them, cold determination coursing through my bones. Beastboy was going to win.

I just wish I could help him.

He faced Slade, scanning his surroundings. He was probably trying to get familiar with it, since Slade hadn't made a move yet.

Seemingly out of nowhere Slade appeared behind him.

"Beastboy watch out!"

He turned around a bit too late and was hit with such impact that he got flung across the room. Oh no.

He growled and turned into a ferocious tiger.

He ran at him, but Slade was too quick, dodging all of his attacks.

"Is that all you got?" Slade asked, malice striking his tone.

Beastboy jumped at him and landed a successful blow to his chest.

"Not even close." He replied, smirking at him.

Slade staggered back. In his moment of weakness Beastboy attacked again. This time hitting his shoulder.

Slade leaped through the air and stabbed Beastboy with his staff hard.

Beastboy shrunk back. He looked back at me, a primal look in his eyes.

He morphed into the beast, blood starting to flow from his chest.

He attacked once more, getting the back of Slade's head.

At this point, Slade was bleeding too. Come to think of it, he looked pretty battered himself.

My eyes wandered back to Beastboy's chest. The blood was flowing freely now. He didn't look so good.

He was losing so much blood that I was worried that he was going to pass out.

Beastboy hit him a few more times, but I could tell he was getting tired. Especially with all the blood loss.

Slade took this opportunity and started attacking him head on. Again and again.

It was hard to watch.

The fire in his eyes started to fade and was replaced with a look of exhaustion and hopelessness. He can't take much more of this.

"Did you really think you could defeat me?" He growled.

Slade stood there, watching Beastboy's weak form stand there stiffly, through narrowed eyes.

He sprang again, this time to kill.

Gathering up the last bit of strength I had, I shot my magic at him.

Just as he was about to stab Beastboy again he was swarmed with my black energy and got flung into the air.

I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing. All I knew was that he was not going to kill Beastboy! Not if I had anything to say about it.

His mask fell off, revealing his disfigured face, laced with pain.

Then it hit me. My powers were tearing him apart, from the inside out.

I was breathing heavily, gasping for breath. This kind of magic took a lot out of me.

Once again my vision started to blur. Everything around me was spinning, until everything went dark.

Beastboy's P.O.V

I looked at Slade for a moment, making sure he wasn't just going to come up and stab me again.

I shivered just thinking about it.

Then I my eyes landed on Raven's small form. She was huddled on the ground.

"Raven!"

I transformed back and ran to her, blood pooling all around me.

I could tell that her powers took a lot out of her.

I couldn't get her out though. Not by myself.

So I just decided to sit there next to Raven.

"You're gonna be okay Rae," I whispered in her ear. Even though she couldn't hear me.

I just hoped I was right. This would be a terrible place to die.

I looked at my chest. It was completely soaked.

"Well so much for my clothes." I let out a small laugh.

Then my chest really started to hurt. More than before. I clutched it tightly.

Slade really knows how to use that thing. I let out a nervous laugh, looking over at him.

He was just lying there. Was he dead? Or just unconcious? I knew that if he was still alive he would come for me.

For us.

I looked at Raven again. She looked so peaceful.

I didn’t want to ruin that.

A few moments later I started gasping for breath, feeling weak from the bloodloss.

My eyes started to close, but I fought to keep them open. I have to be strong. For her. I have to protect her. Though it was a losing battle.

I leaned back until I was lying down and finally let my heavy eyelids fall. I couldn't stand to keep them open any longer.

After that, I remember feeling super light, almost as if I were being lifted off the ground.

I heard a mixture of voices and debated whether or not I was dead.

I opened my eyes weakly, just enough to take in my surroundings.

I was being carried. That's why I felt super light.

I glanced around to get a better look.

It was the Titans! They came for us. We're saved.

Relief rushed over me. We were going to be okay!

But how did they know where we were?

I didn't tell them. I was in too much of a rush.

It doesn't matter. The important thing is that they're here now.

My eyes fell again. This time with my own free will.

I could finally have my well needed rest.
