Word of the Day: Clause
The Devil tells the Lawyer,
"Your time on Earth is up.
Your soul is now my asset.
Your blood will fill my Cup."The Lawyer counters back,
"There's fine print in your clause.
I added Magick Codes.
My soul shall ne'er be yours!"
_____
This poem is based on the deal with the devil motif in European folklore. According to traditional Christian belief about witchcraft, the deal/contract is between a person and Satan. The person offers their soul in exchange for diabolical favours such as youth, knowledge, wealth, fame or power. In this poem, the Lawyer has outwitted the Devil.
