"felix?"

the aforementioned quickly turn off and hid his phone as he glanced at the source of the voice that was calling his name. he let out a sigh of relief when he sees it was hyunjin.

felix didn't know why he was looking up the definition of unrequited love in the first place, but it does feel like he's experiencing one.

"are you okay?" hyunjin slowly approached felix on his bed and placing himself beside the younger.

felix only nodded and gave hyunjin a small smile. he's not ready to tell anyone about his complicated love life yet. especially since it has something to do with a member.

"is it changbin hyung?"

felix whipped his head to face hyunjin almost immediately and gave him a look of disbelief. how did he know? he thought.

"oh sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or anyt-," hyunjin scratched his nape in a nervous manner. his breath hitched lightly as he tried to explain. he didn't mean to trigger the younger at all.

"no, it's okay..." felix said slowly trailing off. he avoided eye contact and look straight ahead before continuing, "do you really want to know?" he asked.

hyunjin lightly nods as he looked over to see felix was on the verge of tears.  his heart clenched at how devastated the younger looked.

"i love changbin hyung," felix said as he feels his tears threatening to fall on his cheeks anytime soon. his voice was shaky as he began to slowly sob.

"but i know he... would never love me back, " he finished, finally giving up holding onto his tears. he cried into his palms so hard, not even realizing hyunjin was trying his best to comfort him.

without giving a second thought, hyunjin held felix in his arms and rubbed comforting circles behind his back. felix gave in and sobbed into hyunjin's chest.

hyunjin knows how it feels when someone you love doesn't love you back. he's been there.

hyunjin held felix's shoulders gently and made the younger face him. "felix, look at me," he said softly.

felix lift his head to be met with hyunjin's sad eyes. he doesn't understand why hyunjin is sad for him, but maybe it was just because he felt sorry for him.

"i know exactly how you feel. but please don't give up, yeah? maybe changbin hyung will realize one day and love you back just like how you love him," hyunjin said, convincing felix.

the younger was trying hard not to sob again, but he failed. he fell back onto hyunjin's embrace and cried his eyes out. no one realized someone had knocked on the door.

changbin had came in to grab something but when he saw felix in hyunjin's embrace, his heart ache. he stayed silent as he watched the two being within each others company.

it hurts to see how hyunjin willingly accepts felix in his embrace and not push him away. it almost felt like, hyunjin loves felix.

and that thought alone sends a series of pain through changbin's broken heart.

he had been in love with hyunjin for so long, yet he knows that the younger will never love him back. he's jealous at the amount of affection felix gets from hyunjin.

changbin just wanted to feel loved, yet the one he loves doesn't even spare a glance at him. it felt like he doesn't matter in his eyes at all.

he doesn't know why felix's is crying, but he can't help feel the stinging pain in his chest as he sees hyunjin whispering comforting words into the younger's ear. he sighed,

why can't you love me back hyunjin?

forgetting his real intention, changbin left the room without making any obvious sound that could catch the other two's attention.

felix is still clutched onto hyunjin, and the older was slowly letting tears fall down his own cheeks. why is he even crying, you ask?

maybe it's because he loves felix.

once the younger said he love changbin, hyunjin felt his world shattered into pieces. it felt like his whole life doesn't mean anything to him anymore.

all this time, hyunjin have had the deepest feelings for felix. yet the younger never realize and give his heart to someone else.

that's why hyunjin understands felix so much. the younger never seems to see how much time hyunjin had sacrifice for him but he never gave up.

by the end of the day, all three of them never understood how much the other love them and how the people they love don't love them back.

felix doesn't realize how hyunjin had constantly checked up on him to make sure he's alright since he starts isolating himself from the members due to his love life crisis. hyunjin had never left his side once.

hyunjin never realize how changbin always give him extra attention and affection, no matter what the situation is. changbin had always been there to make hyunjin smile.

and changbin never thought about how much felix likes spending time with him even when he was having a crisis with the other members. felix is always listening to his problems.

yet here they are, oblivious to each others feelings and suffers from the similar feeling of one-sided love. none of them aware of how the other feels but never gave up on their feelings for each other.

it's painful for all three of them but can they ever block out their feelings that easily? no one could understand them better than themselves, and no one could change how they each fell for each other either.

the world is cruel, but life has to go on. it's either accept that the person you love doesn't love you back or forget the feelings and find someone who will actually love you back.

felix loves changbin, changbin loves hyunjin, and hyunjin loves felix. it was nothing but unrequited love.
