"Are you mad! Reeve you won't get close to her she's the queen!" Otto yells

"Keep your voice down, I'm sure we are not alone here anymore"

"Then tell me how you are going to get close to her then?" Otto asks

"I'm going to make this town great again; her spies will tell her and I will get invited back" I explain

"You've gone mad, you have actually lost your mind. The men out there won't take orders from a boy they've said it themselves"

"They will when they hear this boy has a plan" I smile and Otto shakes his head, just then mother and sisters walk through the door carrying food from the market.

"Reeve, when did you get back?" My mother asks closing the door

"A few minutes ago, how was the market?" I ask getting up from my seat and taking some of the food from Sela's arms

"Boring and full of drunks as usual" Ada says putting her pile of vegetables in the sink before rubbing the dirt of her snow-white dress

"It was fine Reeve" my mother says brushing Ada's response off.

"No one bothered you?" I ask putting the contents of my arms on the kitchen table

"No, it was very quiet" Sera says taking Ninette's food from her arms and putting it next to mine. I look between the four of them; my mum, Sera, Ada and Ninette all dressed in simple white dresses but seem happy in themselves but I couldn't help but think of the queen in her fancy red dress in her castle while we sit a two-bed rundown cottage. I glance at Otto who was helping my mum peel the potatoes for dinner, he catches my eye and stares at me.

"I'm going to get some water" I say grabbing the bucket and walking out the house to the stream in the forest. I sit there for a while after filling up the bucket; working on how I can get my people on my side. I lay down on the grass and sigh if only Ada was born a boy she could have taken over from dad; taken on all his responsibilities been the man of the house. Sun shines through on my closed eyes as I hear my name being called; I shoot up and look around I see the top of someone's head bobbing towards me

"Reeve!" The voice calls again, it was Ada. I stand and stretch grabbing he bucket and make my way to the footpath; Ada spots me and her face goes red with anger and she marches towards me her hair tied back making her look more like a mother than my twin sister.

"What happened to you! you've been gone hours!" She yells

"I fell asleep" I say rubbing me eye

"You're an idiot" she huffs walking back the way she came,

"Ada were twins you have half my stupidity"

"No, I got the brains you got the strength." she corrects I laugh and speed up and walk with my arm around Ada.

"Ada if I were to go away for a while do you think you mother and the others would be okay without me?" I ask looking ahead hoping Ada doesn't read my mind.

"You're the mayor you can't go anywhere, why do you ask?"

"No reason" I say dodging the questioning look from Ada. We get back to the house to see our mother playing with the door, Ada takes the bucket of water from me and walks straight in. mother looks at with her bright green eyes,

"Reeve, what happened?" she asks crossing her arms trapping her long red hair as she does.

"Its old wood, nothing that can't be fixed" I tell her putting on a smile, she looks at me I know this look well it's the same look she gave my father constantly.
