I thought it was just a joke.

I really did.

I slept that night, saying to myself that he's probably just joking me or something to just get back at me. The next morning, while I was sleeping soundly, I was ambushed by Calvin who decided to wake me up an hour early. He pulled on my bed sheets and exposed me to the cold that woke me immediately. He began packing on my bag, grumbling as he threw clothes on a small backpack he brought with him all the while saying a few curses about me being irresponsible.

It was too early for me to argue so I just let him do his shít while I take a few girly necessities on my bathroom. Zipping my little pouch close, I noticed a small pink package in the corner of my vanity mirror. My eyebrows frowned but I reached for it anyway; that reminds me, when did I last...

"Stop being so slow, Holly," Calvin shouted from the bedroom. I jumped a few inches in surprised before snatching those little packages and slipping it on my pouch. No, it's too early to assume...

"I'm coming," I grumbled as I yawned and rubbed on my eyes. When I walked to the bedroom, I saw him seated on my bed with arms crossed. "Go and change and just bathe at the jet," he said rolling my eyes at me. I almost snapped at him for waking me up in such an unholy hour when I figured that I needed to conserve my energy for the entire flight. Not wanting to keep a foul mood for the trip, I went through my closet and pulled on the oak doors before grabbing the first thing I could lay hands on. It was a green dress with sleeves that stopped in my thighs; I shook off my sweater, baring myself to Calvin who was watching at me dress. I slipped on my dress, leaving it open.

"Zip me up, Calvin?" I asked, staring at the mirror in front of me. For a second, he didn't stand up and I thought he wouldn't do it for me but sooner than later, he decided to do it. He stood up and walked slowly, making me shiver on the cold draft. When he stood centimeters away from me did he slowly trailed the zipper up until it stopped on my neck.

"Thanks," I said in a small voice as I pulled on a pair of black leggings and brown boots, making me snugly warm. Grabbing a grey cap on the closet handle and fitting it snugly against my head made my entire attire complete as I can be. Somehow, standing before Calvin made me look like a kid ready to go to an amusement park with Calvin wearing a dark sweatshirt underneath his brown, leather jacket. I would be lying if I say he didn't look ten times hotter because I would definitely jump on him if he stays near my bed long.

"Let's go Holly," he said as he walked before me and I complied immediately, slinging in my backpack. he opened the door but we didn't immediately went out as the vampire lord before me stopped and turned to face me almost immediately making me stumble back a few steps. He took out a wad of cash from inside his jacket and handed it to me, the bills of hundreds of dollars and euros waving at me like a temptress on bikini.

"Wh-what's..."

"You get to control the money since Gustav isn't around," he said as he took my hand and put the large wad of money in my palms. "Trust me when I say that that would disappear in a day in Mexico if I have the money."

"You have all the money in the world, anyway," I muttered as I separated the bills into three: one division is sent on my pockets, the next one slipped into my backpack and the last one went into the jacket I took from the coat rack. I know I probably looked like a mummified girl but I really can't bear the cold. Calvin smiled at that and shook his head. "Just because you do doesn't mean you have to spend a lot. If I bought things that are unnecessary, it would eventually decrease my savings in the bank."
