1. Any normal guy

I woke up because of my alarm clock. The sun shone in my face while the beeping of my alarm clock went on. I stopped my alarm clock and scratched my head. Another day of school was in front of me. I actually wanted to go back to sleep, until my mom came into my room. 'Isn't it time to get out of your bed?' she said while opening my curtains and windows. 'Mm.. Maybe,' I said sleeply. I reached for my glass of water and drank some. My mom handed me a shirt. 'I don't think you wanna be late on your last day of school?' 'True,' I responded and put on my shirt. I never thought at that moment that my life would be way different by the evening. After I put on my shirt I walked downstairs. The newspaper was laying on the table, so I grabbed it and started reading it. Not like I cared what happened around my city, I just wanted something to do. 'A robbery at the supermarket.. More protests about superpowers.. Normal stuff.' Everyday there was at least 1 or 2 articles about protests against superpowers. Some people just didn't think it fair was that certain among us had superpowers. Another reason most heroes work undercover. It once even went that far that one of the protestors attacked a hero. 'People just don't know what to do nowadays..' Heroes were never really my thing. I just wanted to become a sailor when I was older. I loved the sea and water and I loved swimming aswell. Those are the reasons I joined the waterscouts. It might sound a little childish, but it is hard work for 16 to 18 year olds. Every friday we would meet, so I was hyped up for this afternoon. I quickly made and ate my breakfast. Then I ran upstairs to brush my teeth and wash my face.

I looked at myself in the mirror. 'Gosh, I'm happy I'm just a normal guy..' Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike heroes. I have full respect for them. I just don't think I wanna become one myself. After what happened to my father I kinda gave up on my dream to become a hero. It is kinda unfair that some people have superpowers and others not, but I can't do anything about that. My brush went smoothly through my hair by now. I probably lost my thoughts and my hair turned static because of the brush. I heared the crackling of the static and grinned. The sound of something static amused me. I thought the sound was funny. I laid the brush back where it belonged and putted my hair in my normal style. After that I went to my room and changed into my schooluniform. Then I walked downstairs, ready to go to school.

When I closed the frontdoor behind me I felt relieved. Today was the last day of school before summer vacation. As I walked down the road towards the bus-stop, I saw my friend Kai walking ahead. He was at the waterscouts aswell. I ran up to him and scared him from the back. 'GAH!' he screamed. He turned around annoyed. 'For what did I deserve that?' I grinned. 'As payback for scaring me yesterday!' Kai sighed. 'Touché,' he said and continued to walk to the bus-stop. I walked past him and looked at Kai. He seemed kinda distracted. 'Something wrong?' Kai looked at me. 'No, everything is fine..' 'Don't lie to me Kai, you seem kinda down.' He turned to me. 'Look, I don't wanna talk about it ok? Please just leave me alone.' After that he walked away from me. I was confused. Did I make him sad? I arrived at the school bus and went in. As the bus drove to school I looked outside. I thought about Kai. He sat at the other side of the bus. I wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but I had a feeling what was going on. I heard him calling with his sister the other day. He was talking with her about his parents. I couldn't hear everything. But it's kinda obvious whats going on I think. After 15 minutes the bus arrived at school. Everyone stepped out, and so did I. 'Good luck today Mr. Sakara,' I said to the bus driver. 'You too young man,' he responded and closed the bus doors. I turned around and looked at the school. It was a huge gray building and it looked kinda boring. I shrugged and walked inside, like any normal school day.
