Silence

They told me to be silent. They told me that in silence I would find strength. In silence I found only loneliness and pain. They told me that in silence I would find solace, in silence I would find peace of mind and soul. In silence I found only terror  and destruction and the cold crypt of despair. I told them I would not labor in silence, not when there were ears to hear my screams, and shoulders to help bear my suffering. I told them that I would no longer bow to Silence.
