Victoria's POV
I had checked in my luggage and had my carry-on with me as I sat down in the departures area with a coffee I had just bought. I took little sips from it and jumped as I heard my phone vibrate.
It was my mom.
I watched the phone ring and didn't even flinch to answer it. I had nothing to say to her right now. I'm guessing she had realized that I had gone and wanted to know where I was. I just hoped that Alejandro had kept his mouth shut so that they wouldn't follow me.
Alejandro's POV
Mom was freaking out and crying in front of me and I couldn't even tell her that Victoria was fine and just didn't want to answer her phone calls. Dad came out of his room with a look of disbelief on his face.
"She's legally an adult," he sighed. "They can't do anything to find her."
"Why would she just leave?" Mom cried, as my dad embraced her. I watched quietly from the sides, and dad noticed me.
"I hope you had nothing to do with this, young man," Dad warned. "I know how you guys help each other out when you need something."
"No," I denied. "But I think she's fine. You guys are over-stressing."
"Alejandro, do you know the shit that your mother and I have gone through just to keep you guys safe? Do you know how dangerous it is out there?" Dad asked with a stern look on his face.
"I don't," I rolled my eyes. "Because you guys don't tell us anything. Maybe that's why Vic left. Maybe she was tired of the bullshit she was being fed by the both of you. You act like we're supposed to know the danger we face by exposing ourselves yet you fail to tell us what."
I stormed off into my bedroom and pondered for a while. I had never spoken to my parents like that before but I had to get it off of my chest. Not just for Victoria, but me also. I then proceeded to call my sister.
Me: Hello?
Vic: Hey. What's up?
Me: Have you seen mom's missed calls?
Vic: Yep. Is she worried?
Me: Hell yeah. She's been crying for like an hour straight. Mom and dad both think you've run away.
Vic: Oh my gosh. Have you told her that I am going to Florida?
Me: No, of course not. They tried calling the cops but since you're legally an adult, you haven't been declared as missing just yet.
Vic: You can't let them declare me missing. You gotta tell Mom and Dad that I'm fine.
Me: But then they're gonna know that I know where you are.
Vic: Oh, yeah. Fuck. I'll come up with a plan when I get to Florida.
Me: Cool. Stay safe, okay?
Vic: I will.
I was afraid for Victoria. However, my name was Alejandro Greyson and I was an intelligent and knowledgable 16-year-old. When Victoria was leaving in the morning and we hugged, I had placed a tracking device on her carry-on. I know - what a genius.
This was essential. Knowing where my sister was at all times was essential and if something happened to her, I would never forgive myself since I had a hand in her flying to Florida to see her biological father.
