"See you tomorrow!" A four year old Chenle waved. The child that was playing with Chenle turned around and waved back at him.
"Kun! I told you not to take Chenle to the playground!" Chenle's father yelled into the phone. Kun was scared.
"I know. I'm sorry. I won't do anything without your permission ever again," Kun said into the phone. He looked at Chenle who was playing around in the sand.
"Take him back home instantly!" Chenle's father yelled. Kun did what he was told. He ended the call. He grabbed Chenle and picked him up.
"Where are we going Kun-ge?" Chenle asked. Kun looked at him and smiled.
"We're going home," Kun said. He was only 10 and he had a big responsibility on taking care of Chenle.
His parents had passed away when he was 9. Chenle's parents and Kun's parents were good friends. So naturally Chenle's family took in Kun, since all of Kun's uncles and aunts lived far away.
Despite being good friends with Kun's family. They never really accepted him as a son. Instead they made him a servant for the family, giving him orders and bossing him around. Kun had no say in it, he was too young so he just had to do whatever they said.
Kun's only escape from them was going to school. He was lucky enough that they didn't take that away from him. He could've been home schooled just like Chenle, but it would have costed more money to pay for Kun.
Kun would come home from school, quickly finish his homework and then take care of Chenle and any other chores he had to do around the big mansion in China. He watched Chenle grow up like a little brother. The little brother he never had.
"Kun-ge! Can you help me with puzzle!" Chenle said to him. Kun smiled and nodded his head. He loved helping Chenle in anyway possible.
"Kun. Where do you think you're going?" Chenle's mother asked. Kun was at the door. He turned around and looked at her. He awkwardly smiled.
"I was gonna go out and hang out with my friends," Kun said. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Take Chenle with you. If not then you're not allowed to go out," Chenle's mother said. Kun sighed and nodded his head.
It eventually became harder for Kun once he got older. Of course a 15 year old wanted to go out and hang out with his friends than stay home with a 9 year old.
"Chenle! What are you doing!" Kun yelled into his room. He couldn't find him anywhere. Eventually Kun found Chenle coloring a book.
"I'm just coloring," Chenle said. Kun looked at him.
"Do you want to go out and hang out with my friends?" Kun asked. Chenle looked up at him and his eyes sparkled. It was the only chance Chenle was able to hang out with other kids, whether they were the same age or not.
"Yes! Let's go!" Chenle said as he grabbed a sweater and followed Kun right behind him. Kun chuckled. He knew his friends would be annoyed by him because he brought Chenle with him.
"Are you gonna miss your friends?" Chenle asked. Kun looked at him and nodded his head.
"Don't worry about me though. I'm here to support you. Now that we're moving to South Korea," Kun smiled. Chenle pouted.
"I'll do everything myself once we get to Korea. I won't need your help as much," Chenle said. Kun slowly nodded his head.
"Either way I'm going to have to stay with you. I don't have anywhere else to go remember," Kun said. Chenle made an 'oh' face.
"Then I want you to relax. If I really need your help. I'll call you but other than that I'll do everything on my own," Chenle said.
"I'll always have to be there for you," Kun said.
Despite being such a young servant, Kun grew to like his position. He mainly liked being with Chenle. He considered him his only true family, besides his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Once they arrived in Korea. Chenle no longer asked for Kun as much as he did when they were in China. Kun still helped as much as he could but since Chenle's parents were away in China. Kun did what Chenle said.
He relaxed.
