"Katie?"
"Yes, Jake?" I reply.
"One day I am going to be a police officer and you are going to love me because I will be the best looking man on the force," Jake stated.
I rolled my eyes. "Sure, Jake. I told you a million times over that we will never be more than friends,"
"I know, but a boy can dream, can't he?" he asked.
"That's your problem, Jake, your head is always in the clouds. Full of dreams," I say.
Jake and I have been friends since first grade. Sure he was not the best student since he flunked grade school three times, but now he is the smartest 13-year old I know... well kinda. He has had a thing for me since the second grade. and seems that I am three years younger than him I don't think he is being the smartest.
"You will Katie. I promise," Jake holds out his pinky to seal the promise.
"Don't promise something like that, you idiot!"
