A little after 6 pm I woke up to the sound of Noah snoring right next to my ear. God, everything about him is angelic. He'd go a minute without any sound and then there'd be a violent rumble in his sinuses. It's funny, on anyone else that would be a big turn off and frankly obnoxious but with Noah everything was good.
I just sat there for about ten minutes but it felt like a lot less. Eventually, the snores stopped and Noah's breathing picked up as he woke up and opened his eyes. I saw the inevitable confusion in them that comes with falling asleep during the day before they softened and he nuzzled back into my shoulder and yawned.
"Mornin', Eli," he muttered as his yawn tapered off.
"Evening, Noah," I responded as I took in everything that had happened since I messaged him. Man, I gotta thank Instagram at our wedding.
"What time is it?"
I reached for my phone on the other side of the couch but Noah refused to let go of my arm so I looked at the clock on the wall. "Six-thirty-ish," I finally answered, "what time do you have to be home?"
"Whenever I want really, I'm not supposed to tell anyone this but I doubt you'll murder me in my sleep so I guess I can tell you."
"Not currently planning on it, anyway." He giggled at that.
"Well, I'm the only one down here right now," he continued, "my mom will kill me for telling you this but fuck it. We weren't going to move in until next week because mom has some meetings in New York. We had a golf trip organised even before the move so we were going to fly back to New York afterward but I convinced her and dad to let me stay here instead. It was pretty hard but eventually they caved. I have to call them every morning, evening and night so they know I haven't been brutally murdered and I can't let anyone know I'm alone."
"Bro that's sick as fuck!" A whole house to himself, minutes from my own. I think you can put two and two together.
"I thought it would be, but it gets lonely quickly..."
"Well you're not alone now, if you want you can stay here, maybe I could convince my mom to let me stay with you. You'll have to meet her first though."
"Really?! Elliot, you have no idea how much I'd like that!" Again he wasn't shouting in my ear, those exclamation marks are just there for emphasis, got it? Good. "Where is your mom, anyway?"
"Well, I uh... I don't know. She left just before you arrived, she should be back by now." I was reaching over for my phone to text her when I could hear keys at the front door, Noah jumped a bit, still latched onto my side. He tried to move away from me when he realised what was happening but I put my arm around him and smiled at him, he stopped retreating but stayed tense.
"Elliot, I'm home!" She called out when she closed the door.
"In here, mom!" I called back.
She made her way into the living room as she set down her handbag. I saw a look of confusion, realisation, recognition and finally a double-take as she realised who was under my arm. Noah stood up to meet her and I followed.
"Mom, this is Noah Schnapp. Noah, this is my mother, Jackie."
Noah put out his arm to shake my mom's hand, a rookie mistake. "Nice to mee-." Mom quickly pulled him into a tight hug, I'm sure Noah was having a hard time breathing with his face planted squarely in her chest. She pulled back and held him by his shoulders.
"My son's first boyfriend!" She squeaked. "And he's so cute too!"
My mom undoubtedly knows who Noah is, she watched the first episode of Stranger Things with me. She kept her cool though and that's something I'm thankful for. Noah told me he just wants a normal life here and I couldn't have my mom fangirling and ruining that for him, I knew she wouldn't but it's good seeing she didn't make any fuss about it.
By now I could see Noah had an amused smile on his face but I still couldn't have my mother scare off the love of my life this early so I went in for the rescue mission. I went between them and pushed her arms off of him. "Moooom, can you not embarrass me straight away?"
"I'm sorry, Elliot, does after dinner suit you better?" She loves doing this, can't help herself, she believes she's the funniest person in the room. She usually is but I'd never admit that to her.
"Mom, please," I groaned in vain before taking in what she said. "Wait, actually can Noah stay for dinner?"
"Of course," she said, calmer, "what would you like, Noah?" She asked turning back to him.
He was still a little out of it but he copped on. "Oh, I don't mind at all. I'll eat whatever."
"I don't think we have that but I'll make something nice." She really can't help herself. "Do your parents know you'll be staying for dinner, Noah?" She added.
"No, but I'm sure they'll be fine with it, I'll give them a call."
"You can call them in my room, c'mon Noah," I said urging him out of the room. "Oh, mom, if it's ok with Noah's parents can he stay the night?"
"Of course, honey," she said as she entered the kitchen with a big grin on her face. She might be more excited than I am. Nah, I don't think that's possible. Noah and I went up to my room.
My room isn't amazing but it's mine. Noah seemed to be amazed by it, however. He went around looking at everything. A few posters I have, my Xbox, my bed and finally my guitar. He said it was like looking into my mind which I thought was cute.
"So, you gonna call your parents then?" I asked.
"Oh yeah."
He pulled out his phone while I laid down on my bed and rang up his mom. I only paid attention to snippets of the conversation. Stuff like what he's eaten and what he'd done that day. He mentioned me a few times which made my heart jump each time. On the phone he made out that he was home though. In all, they talked for around twenty minutes. He ended the call with a hushed "I love you too," which was way too cute.
"So did they say you could sleep over?" I asked with a grin knowing full well he didn't ask.
"Yup, lamo, they said they didn't trust me sleeping in the same bed as such a cutie though," he replied as he walked over and laid down beside me.
"Who said you're sleeping in my bed?" I said with the straightest face I could muster (*insert gay joke here*).
"Oh, I uh, I guess I just, like, assumed... it's fine though I don't mind or anything..."
I couldn't help it, he's so goddamn cute when he's flustered. I turned my head towards him and kissed his cheek. "I'm joking, ya loser. Of course you can sleep in my bed."
His blush died down and he cuddled into me.
"We'll have to go to your house after dinner and get your stuff."
"I can go on my own."
"But I want to see your room..." I said with a pout.
He smiled warmly and pecked my lips. "Ok then... lamo."
Hey everyone. I definitely won't be doing smut at this sleepover but I have a question. Do you want to see it going forward? I was thinking of aging the characters up to around fifteen since that's Noah's age now and because then they'll be around my age and I won't feel as weird writing for them. So, should I do smut or not and should I age them up or not?
Hope you liked this chapter too. I just really wanted to write tonight and this came out.
