“So we’re over?” I asked, my voice jumping up and octave. I was so upset and stunned; I wasn’t even worried about how stupid I sounded. My boyfriend, Adam, for 3 years, dumping me in front of a huge group of people. What a jerk, a pompous, arrogant, lowlife, pigheaded, asinine, selfish jerk!

“That’s what I said isn’t?” He sneered. I used to love the way his lip would curl, because it had always smoothed out into a smile in front of me. But now he is using it against me.

“Lex, it’s nothing personal! It’s just the fact that I deserve better than you and Mandy is like ten times prettier than you. So see, nothing personal!” He bursts out laughing. I just stood there, my jaw probably dropped unattractively but I didn’t care. All I could do was not punch him in the face, but I broke,

          And my arm, snapped, forward

“AGHH” He yelled, clutching his nose, which was now gushing blood. “You’re going to pay for that you bitch!” He screamed. Or at least that’s what he tried to say before my friend Julie, who happened to be standing next to me, lashed out and hit him in the stomach.

I laughed and bent over till my lips just barely grazed his ear.

“Bring it on, I love a challenge.” I whispered. I kissed him on the cheek, straightened my back, lifted my chin up and walked away. I was pretty proud of myself for saying that, but I knew this feeling wasn’t going to last long.

“That… was SO cool” Julie said, practically skipping next to me. She always loved a good fight, but more importantly, she loved it when I won. She was my best friend, and she was the craziest, most amazing, and most beautiful, and most AWESOME person in the world. She was one of the only people who understood me.

“Well,” I said, “Let’s just hope he stays in line, or I’m taking him down.” I laughed and the rest of the day went super-fast, except for science. I, of course, have him as my lab partner. Class was about to start when the door was suddenly kicked open. Adam stood there, his nose all black and blue with red splotches under his eyes, and an ice pack in his hand. I almost burst out laughing. He walked over to me, smoldering. I just smiled and waved enthusiastically, like I never hit him. I sat listening to Mr. Lebermans “super fascinating” lecture about some chemistry nonsense for about half the class when Adam put his hand on my leg. At first I thought he was trying to get my back when his hand started to move upwards till I noticed that under his hand was a note. I picked his hand off of my leg and placed it in his lap, and took the note off of my leg. Ya, so much for wanting me back...

“You are a bitch, a self-indulged low life bitch that goes around and dates everyone. You have some nerve punching me. Don’t think you won’t regret it because honey, I’m coming for ya.”

Wow, Adam, you’re such a nice guy. I looked up at him and mouthed the words “Good Luck” To him. I may have acted confident, but honestly, I was a little scared. Last person he went after moved half way across the world. But this time, I think he is picking on the wrong person. I don’t think he realizes that I have spent three years of my life observing him, so I practically know everything about him. I am going to enjoy this. So baby, bring it on!
