Chapter 6. Introducing Me

We've exited his room as soon as his mother called out. We've entered the kitchen and saw a man sitting at the center of the table. His face still doesn't change a bit. He turned to see us and smile at us. He was never a 'who' to me anyway. I've been used to his strictness since we were in primary but I understand his way of parenting Zach. Maybe Zach doesn't understand him the way I understand him.

"Mr. Sandoval" I greeted him. He look at me, a dad smile if I would describe it.

"Steicy, how have you been? Please seat" he asked me as I was walking to one of the chairs.

"I'm fine Mr. Sandoval and you? You didn't age a bit" I complimented. He just let out a small chuckle

"I'm fine too" he answered. He took a portion of food to his plate and started to cut the meat as he put it in his mouth and chew. I did the same thing trying to calm myself. I was freaking nervous for pete sake. I've been here all the time but this situation is different. I mean, Zach is introducing me as his girlfriend.

"So why are you here?" he asked without looking at me and still eating his food. I feel a warm hand on my hand and look at it to whom the hand belongs.

"She's Zach girlfriend now, honey" Kate said as she entered the kitchen, holding a tray.

"Oh is that so?" his father asked. I just look at Zach, hoping he would answer it and he did.

"Yes, father" he answered. His hands still grip on my hand squeezing it trying to calm me down.

"This isn't escaping to the blind dates I arrange, is it?" he added looking at Zach's eyes.

"Blind dates, Sir?" I asked. Yeah, just pretend you don't know about it maybe he'll believe whatever we said.

"Yes, Steicy. I've been arranging blind dates to Zach since he doesn't have any proper relationship" he answered. I let out a soft chuckle and fixed my posture. Oh, is that why he's been arranging it. I slightly nod and put a portion of food in my mouth.

"So you two is it official like a serious matter. Not like a fling or what?" Kate questioned. I let out a soft chuckle because of her childishness.

"Yes, Mrs. Sandoval. It's official" I answered, smiling at her. I look at Zach who is currently smiling at me also. He more squeezed his hand on mine and rubbed his thumb on it.

"I told you to just call me Kate." I nod and smile at her.

"It's about time you two ended up together. I always don't like Nevia back then." she laughed  "I always expected you two will end up together even your parents expected it also." Kate's informed. I can believe she squeak like a little girl. Mr. Sandoval laughs at what his wife is doing and as for Zach, he was a little shocked.

"You too, Dad?" Zach questioned. He just gave him a nod and a small laugh in between eating. I really can believe they really expected it. But expected or not, this is still a fake relationship. This isn't true. And I'm already hearing support from them, even though this is fake.

"Okay enough. We should probably eat now or Steicy will come home late" his father said.

"Ah Dad, Steicy going to sleep here for the night" Zach informed. He just gave him a nod and continue to eat. Why am I even nervous this time?
