Eddie's P.O.V

Y/N Tozier. God how much I was in love with her. The way she made me laugh when I was upset, the way she always came to my house randomly and surprised me with ice cream, and even the way she looked when she was frustrated. She would always scrunch her nose and furrow her eyebrows together. I had developed a crush on her from the first day I met her. I remember it so clearly. I don't think that I could ever forget it, considering that I almost died.

It was a June day in 1976. There was a slight breeze, the sun was shining, and there were children running around laughing. My mom had just gotten me a strawberry ice cream cone from this new restaurant called Scoops Ahoy. I had let go of my mom's hand because she had started to flirt with the cashier. Gross. I walked away and around the corner. Whoosh. Okay, what was that? Whoosh, there it was again. I looked up to see the most beautiful thing that my 4 year old self ever saw. An orange butterfly. I gasped. Suddenly, the butterfly started to fly away.

"Wait! Come back!" I yelled to it. No use. I ran after it, dropping my ice cream in the process. I ran back around the corner and watched as the butterfly flew across the busy road. Only one way to catch the butterfly now, I thought as I ran into the road.

"Aha got you" I yelled as I scooped the butterfly in my hands and stood in the road. I guess my younger self was like present day Richie: stupid. I looked to the left of me and saw a huge pick up truck driving my way. I just stood there, paralyzed with fear. This was it. This was the day Edward Kaspbrak died. I let go of the butterfly, wanting it to live and not die with me. The driver of the truck must've been pretty old to not see a little kid standing in the middle of the road with a bright pink shirt on. As it got closer, I closed my eyes ready for death. Just then, I felt a slight push and I fell to the ground. I waited a few seconds and the slowly opened my eyes, only to be met by a bright light. Was this it? Was I in Heaven? Wow, it didn't really hurt as much as I thought to die. Just a little bruise. Then, a shadowy figure blocked the bright light.

"Are you okay" the voice of a little girl asked. I groaned and held my head. The little girl grabbed my arm and pulled me up. I looked around. I was still in Derry? What? That didn't make any sense. I was dead.

"Am I dead" I said out loud and the little girl laughed.

"No silly, I pushed you out of the way" she replied.

"Oh, thank you" I said, finally looking at her. I gasped. She was beautiful. Her h/c hair in pigtails. Her s/c skin, shining in the sun. She was wearing a white tank top with yellow shorts and no shoes.

"You do know that's not thanitary, right" I asked her, pointing down at her feet.

"You mean san-itary" she said as she emphasized the "san".

"Oh yeah, sorry" I said and blushed. She giggled and held out her hand.

" I'm Y/N Tozier" she said. I grabbed her hand.

"And I'm Eddie Kaspbrak. I'm 4" I said smiling.

"Nice to meet you Eds" she said giving me a thumbs up.

"Thanks again for saving me Y/N" I said to her. Before she could reply, I wrapped her in a hug. I pulled away and she smiled.

"Anytime Eddie" she exclaimed.

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! WHERE THE HELL IS MY SON" I heard my mother scream from behind me. I turned around and she was was screaming at a police officer. I waved my arms to get her attention and then I locked eyes with her. Her eyes widened and she screamed "EDDIE" and began to run over to me.
