{The Day She Found Out}

{The Truth...}

Glory Bell Orphanage, 14th of April 2038. 08:00 p.m

In the evening of Glory Bell Orphanage felt sad and also touching at the same time as a 14 years old girl named Elise was going to be shipped out and being adopted. Rains of messages by the children of the orphanage and waved at her, tears began to appear for some children especially Elise. 

"Goodbye, Elise!" 

"We'll miss you!!" 

"Don't forget to send us letters!"

"I will guys, don't worry!" the girl with bob styled and rust coloured hair wiped her teary olive eyes while waving back at her siblings, not forgetting to meet every one of her siblings' eyes with fondness, until she noticed the missing silver ones. "Wait, where's Amelie...?" as if on cue, the mentioned girl ran down the stairs with two makeshift letters in hand and dashed straight to the older girl's embrace. "I'm here!"

Amelie, a three-year old girl with wavy shoulder-length cyanine blue hair adorned with a sickle like cowlick sticking out from the top of her head embraced the older girl tightly, received a tight hug by Elise in return. "Don't forget us, okay!?" the little girl's exclamation was fumbled out in the rust-haired girl's shirt, "how am I gonna forget my family, anyway~? All of you are too precious for me!" she responded while holding back sobs that was threatening to interrupt her words.

Releasing herself from the hug, Amelie handed her sister the two letters she had "this one is for Bede if you meet him somewhere outside! And this one is your parents, to tell them to adopt one of us so you will never feel alone without us!" everyone instantly cheered at the cyanine haired girl, who began to feel bashful and blushed. 

"That's brilliant, Amelie!" Mama, the caretaker of the orphans, cooed as she patted her small head, "come now, Elise. Don't want to make your parents wait don't you?" earning a confirming nod, Elise turned her back against her siblings and took Mama's hand before exiting the house under the dark sky.

"W-wait!"

The caretaker and the rust haired girl turned around and saw Amelie gripping her bed trousers tightly with her small hands, "p-promise...you'll still visit us and still love us!" her silver eyes were very glossy but her face adorned a large smile. "Don't worry, I will!" Elise's reply boosted the cyanine-hair's spirit inside her. 

Amelie stood at the orphanage's front door, not until Elise and Mama was out of sight. When they do, she sat at the door silently while fiddling with her fingers with a look of sorrow. 

'I wonder how's Bede and everyone with their new family...?'

'Are they happy out there? Will Bede and Elise achieve their dreams? And become what they want in the future?'

"You must've missed her a lot with Bede too, huh?" Eric sat down beside her, he's a boy not much older than her. The younger girl could only nod with a saddened hum, still staring at the distance. The dark haired boy with indigo eyes could only feel as sad but unlike her. Bede and Elise have been the ones that accompanied Amelie, ever since Amelie came both always insisted to visit her crib, until now she became a bubbly child thanks to their influence.

And since both people close to her have been adopted, she must've felt lonelier than seeing her other siblings get adopted. That's when an idea came to his mind "say~ How about you visit her, and I'll cover you up? Give Elise your last hug, waddya say?", a gasp left Amelie's lips at Eric's idea "thanks, Eric! You're the best!" she whisper-yelled before running to where the gate was located. 

'I am going to go outside to surprise Elise and her new parents, and I'll give her our last hug but tighter! To prove I'm the next one being adopted by her new family'

Amelie huffed with pride and was now near the gate and hid behind the nearest tree she could find, she's so excited to surprise her sister but when she takes a look at the gate, there it is, she saw her beloved older sister. 

Elise in front of...a monstrous figure. 

Silent gasp left her mouth while her sister is trembling in front of that a monster? a DEMON?! She tried to raise up her voice to call Elise but nothing came out, she felt like something is chocking her neck, her throat felt sore. She tried to run at her, pull her back to the orphanage but her fear glued her leg to the ground.

Then, Elise let out a shrill scream out of her suffering, she saw a red flower blooming with the stem stabbing right where her heart is, Elise's body stopped moving, her eyes widened to an impossible extent as she saw her fell. There behind the tree, petrified, frozen, her legs couldn't move, it's horrifying, scary, it's heartwrenching, it's...terrible

'Why?...why would anyone do such thing?...Why would...Mama...'

Amelie instantly ran back towards the orphanage in panic. "No..." she managed to huff out "Mama wouldn't...let us be eaten...! She wouldn't..." her small foot finally gave out as she landed face first on the ground "it's just a bad dream! Elise is not dead! DEMONS DON'T EXIST!!" handful of cyanine blue locks were grabbed and pulled in a distressed manner.

"Everyone's still alive! T-they are still a-alive!" she's now sobbing uncontrollably, "r-right...this is just a nightmare...everyone is alive! Living h-happily with their new fa-family...right?" ended up in a blabbering mess with body bowed down touching the ground. Her sobs finally died down and replaced with silent snores, body laid in the middle of the field, wet puffy eyes unnoticed by her eyelids.

"Eric! She's over there!"

"Do you think she's tired?"

"I guess so...and I think she has been crying while on the way here"

"Nika, can you carry her back? I'll go make her bed"

{Got Caught...}

Glory Bell Orphanage, 17th of April 2038, 07:00 a.m

Amelie seems to be more quiet than usual after she knew that Elise and everyone that have been shipped out are now gone, "breakfast is ready my children" said Mama with a hearty smile on her face, everyone gathered in the dining room and start the prayer they always do before they have their feast "thank you for the food!". 

While everyone is eating, Mama clinks the glass with the tea spoon to announce something "attentiom everyone I have an outstanding news to announce, there is a lovely family that wanted to adopt Amelie, I know that this is quite sudden but let's have a celebration for our dear sister" everyone started to eye her with excited stares and refocus their eyes back to Mama "we will say goodbye to her in the evening" she ends the announcement with a loving smile. After they finished their breakfast they said the appreciation "thank you, it was delicious".

The said girl could only muster up her energies to compose herself from making a mortified expression at the news.

In the afternoon Amelie went to Mama's office, she opened the door and saw Mama arranging some papers "ah, Amelie. Come inside" she waved her hand and then patted the chair next to her "sit here Amelie, I'd like to have a little talk with you". Closing the door, she walked towards the chair that Mama pats "Mama, is there something wrong?", Mama nods "Yes dear" she replied, a small pause appeared between them that makes Amelie a quite nervous. 

"Amelie, did you go to the gate when Elise is being shipped out" tears began to come out from her eyes and her mouth starts to speak "M-Mama...don't be angry at Amelie" her sobbing was heard by Mama and she pets her gently to calm the sobbing "I-I just want t-to surprise her...b-b-but Elise, s-she is..." She was trembling, she's scared, she couldn't say another word, she's now exposed right in front of her beloved mama "Amelie, I understand, I'm also sorry for her but don't worry...no need to worry. My poor little Amelie, my little soldier. You must be scared, terrified seeing those monsters" she said it calmly and then hugging Amelie and strokes her cyanine blue hair softly.
