"Ah? N-Nani?" I said picking up the paper placed in front of me. Being an orphan who never really learnt to read I was completely clueless as to what this was saying. And you might be wondering why I can speak. Me and the other orphans mainly learnt how to speak by observing our director and some other adults(Pro orphan tip!) "you can't read now can you kid?" Sho responded to my supposedly confused face. "I can read but not a lot" I clarified. "Haih. Well in all simplicity, you're my child too now." He said while fiddling with his tie. Mei, who's company I'd grown used to had come close to me. I closed my eyes expecting it to hurt but it didn't. When I opened my eyes, I saw her arms wrapped around me. "When's your birthday kid?" My now dad had asked. "January 18." I responded not even questioning it. "Welp, your the Nee-san then. Since, your birthday is much earlier." Dad had said. I stared at them in complete shock. I had no words. There was a whole dictionary full of words but not enough to describe how happy, amazed and shocked I am. I didn't understand why they'd decided to adopt me. I was a Monster. A creature who should've been executed. They both hugged me and I hugged them back and cried in happiness. "Im calling you Y/N. That's your new name. Y/N Aihara." My dad announced. I nodded in happiness with slightly watery eyes. "Nee-Chan!" I smiled slightly. My dad ruffled my slightly unruly [H/C] hair. I looked at him with my [E/C] eyes. I had new family.

"Wake up Flaming Eyebags. You've been asleep since you finished your student council work." I heard when I blinked my eyes. I looked around and saw none other than Himeko Momokino or as I like to call her, "Ah. Thank you Beetle brows." I said in a monotonous tone to her. "don't call me Beetle brows eyebags! Also if Mei Mei didn't ask me to wake you I would've left with her!" She yelled at me. Fixing my tie, I got up. "Apologies for the trouble then. Beetle brows." "Don't call me Beetle Brows!" She retorted with a tick mark on her forehead. Towering the smaller girl, I reached for my bag and left the student council room. I slipped my hand into my pocket(I do not care where the pocket comes from also you may choose if you wear school pants or skirts. I also do not care. Because In the story it is not very important.) and walked out of the school. When me and Momokino reached the gates of the school, we found my sister, Mei, standing there. "Mei Mei! Did you wait for us?" Momokino shouted. "Quiet down Beetle Brows. She's not that far from us." I said turning my phone on and placing my earphones in my ear. My sister simply nodded to answer Momokino's question. "Nee-san. I think that for the sake of safety, you shouldn't blast your music so loudly." My sister reminded. I tuned down my music slightly. Oh, what am I listening to? It's called "Boulevard of Broken dreams" by green day. It was a pretty good song. While listening to it, I started to get memories of my past and started biting my lip. A nervous tick. A bad habit that grandfather and Mei had constantly tried to get rid of because of how damaging it was to my lip. It's not that I don't listen. Really, I do listen to them. I just never managed to really put it into practice. I felt my phone buzz and saw a text from Grandfather. 'Y/N, I'm sorry to say that I will not be able to make it back tonight because of work that needs to be taken care of. Please make sure that You and Mei eat a proper dinner tonight.' I read it and just shrugged. After parting ways with Momokino, I asked Mei "what would you like for dinner? Grandfather won't be back for it so we can just eat what we want." "Your chicken." She responded. I nodded and opened the door to the Aihara family mansion. I loosened my tie and undid my top button. I took out the ingredients I needed and started cooking. "Mei you can go take a shower while I cook." I told her. She nodded and went upstairs to take a shower.

"Mei! Dinner!" I called out. She then came down the stairs and sat down at the table. I picked up my cold soba(Yep- definitely Todoroki 2.0- I am so sry-) and ate it. "Were you thinking of what happened when you were young again?" She asked, breaking the silence.
"No?" I said trying not to let the secret out. "Your chicken is slightly overcooked though." She responded. I sighed and then nodded my head.

1. She got up and moved my hair that was covering my left eye and kissed my scar. Something that she's done since we were small to assure me that I shouldn't think about what happened and move on.

I looked up at her and smiled a little. I hadn't smiled in a Long time. "Sorry about the chicken Mei. I'll be sure to remember." I told her. "Ok. As Long as you're ok." She assured with a smile. This was a side of her I'd always loved. This was also the side that only I got to see so Plus 1 point for flaming eyebags and none for beetle brows! We ate the rest of dinner in silence like we always did, then, I went up to take my shower. After my shower, I threw on a shirt and some random Pyjama pants and a hoodie. At that moment, I heard the door open. I went down and saw grandfather. "Welcome home Grandfather." I responded. "No need to be so formal Y/N." He chuckled. "There's some Soba and chicken left Grandfather. Should I heat it up?" He responded with a smirk. "No need! I wish to test your cooking skills." He challenged. I let him. He took some chicken and Soba and placed it in his mouth and I was sure that I could see stars in his eyes. "Oh my.. oh my... GOODNESS!" He yelled. He quickly ate the rest of it. "This is the best you've cooked!" I turned a little embarrassed. "Really? Mei said that the chicken was slightly overcooked." Rubbing the back of my neck. "It's a pity you'll be taking over the academy. You'd make a great Chef I'm sure." He praised. "I heard Grandfather yell. What happened?" Mei said racing down the stairs. I held back my laugh from this antic. "Nothing happened Mei." I said with a chuckle. She heaved a sigh of relief and went back up. "I should do my homework now. Have a nice evening." I said going up to my room. I locked the door and took out my homework from my bag. I once again, found myself struggling over something as simple as math homework. Allow me to explain. No matter how I topped in terms of results and grades, I was no good at studying. Like, at all. I decided to try my hardest at it. I couldn't rely on Mei too much. She's helped me all these years. I should start learning how to study properly on my own.

After about 2 hours of pure torture, I looked at the time. 11:15pm. It wasn't that late yet. Though, I presumed Mei and Grandfather were already asleep since they usually were asleep by about 9:30 or 10:30 at the the latest. My walls were soundproofed because they knew my habit of staying up. I looked out the window and let myself produce some fire through my right hand that was out of the window. I let my tail free and swung it around. It was pretty much coiled up around my leg Everyday for hours. Even if I could let it free just for a few hours, I took every minute I had. "I wonder how Tohru is doing." I muttered.

After staring at the sky, I looked at the clock. 1:30am. I shrugged and got all my school stuff ready. Uniform included and fell asleep.

Ayyyyy! Chapter was probably boring but eh- interesting chapters will come. Also I wrote this at 12am. My brain probably shut down halfway. -Author-Kun
