Grillby's POV

Sans helped me move to my new bar on the surface after he brought (y/n) to the hospital. I set up nicely and people came flooding in like normal when the bar was open. Nothing seemed off and it looked like everything was fine, except the fact that I couldn't bring myself to visit (y/n), I just couldn't... I thought they'd hate to see me, for not catching them or just letting them step off into the river. I did ask sans to give them those flowers and checking up on them. But now, they're suddenly here... Looking straight at me with those eyes. They weren't sparking with happiness, just confusion? They walked towards me and sat down on the bar stools "hey grillbz, how's it cooking?" I let out a sigh and put my hands on my side when I notice (y/n) staring at me with a Puzzled expression? "What do you guys want?" "The usual" sans said and (y/n) didn't want anything. They were pretty quiet as I passed sans a ketchup bottle and just chatted about anything and everything. Of course, the human was dumbfounded with sans drinking ketchup, but what can I do?

Your POV

People started leaving around 10 and me, sans and grillby were the only ones left. I didn't talk much because I was thinking too much of why this orange monster in his nice suit gives me the feelings of deja vu. I feel like I've met him before, but only by listening did I know his name is Grillby. I was too zoned out to realize that sans has already started left when the front door closed, ringing that bell again. I looked over at Grillby and I could see he wasn't at ease "hey (y/n), I'm really sorry for what happened down in the underground..." Wait, underground? I was there? And it could be his fault for the scar? When I put my attention back to Grillby he's just stressing out and apologizing to you like no other. "I don't remember what happened" the guy instantly stops talking and looks surprised to say the least. "Do, do you remember anything what happened in the underground?" You think but nothing comes up except dizziness. You shake your head and see Grillby just standing there with a blank expression, not that he really ever shows, but still... Finally, he broke the awkward silence between the two of you and asked "can I see, your stitches?" It was a bit odd, but you didn't mind "uhm, sure I guess" he walks around the bar and up to you. "My stitches have already been removed" you say before feeling Grillby's warmth behind you and his fluent hand moving some hair out of the way, you hear a slight gasp behind you "I'm so sorry" you slowly turn around to him and grillby moves his hand to softly rub your shoulders "it's alright, Grillby. I forgive you for whatev-" a vague memory, snow... Grillby and now a sudden headache, it made you dizzy and nausea"(Y/n), everything alright?" You slowly nod and weakly smile. You tale deep breaths and try not to pass out. "Are you sure? you look a little pale" for the second time you nod, but your vision slowly fades to black with grillby quickly catching you in his arms.

When you wake up again you feel like you've been in this bed before. You slowly open your eyes and sit upright, looking over to the left you see a sleeping grillby sitting on a chair near the bed, he's wearing just a shirt that kinda shows his buff chest and some track pants with a phone on his lap with the screen still emitting light. "Where am I?" You silently say to yourself, observing the room You're in; white walls and a wooden floor with a dresser, a mirror hanging on the wall, a single window covered by dark red curtains, a door leading to somewhere and of course the sleeping matchstick on the chair emitting quite a bit of light, but no clock to tell the time. You look for your phone but it isn't in your pocket, and your shoes are off. Slowly getting up, trying not to wake grillby you reach out for the phone on his lap and swiftly grab it without waking him up. You look on the phone and you see some page about humans and their autonomy, not that unusual I guess? The time is, 2 in the morning and... Grillby actually woke up and is staring straight at you with his sleepy eyes "o-oh, h-hello! I didn't mean to wake you up" Grillby had a tired look on his face and didn't say anything so you just stared at him awkwardly, he's really muscular or is that just me? "What were you looking at?" He calmly says, adjusting his glasses and sitting straight. You instantly feel the color of a fire truck spread across your face and take a step back "n-nothing!" You blurt out while scratching the back of your neck ashamed. Grillby looks at the phone in your hands and has a questionable look on his face. "O-oh, I was just wondering what time it is" you say, handing back his phone as your normal face color slowly returns. "Then it's alright" he says with a raspy voice and puts the phone back in his pocket. "And you should go back to sleep" "no, I think I'll just... I'll just head home" grillby gets up and towers above you, moving his hand through his fiery hair to make it look better "I don't want you to go out in the middle of the night" he was being so calm saying that and you just nod, there's no chance you could win from him. Slowly getting back in bed as grillby takes a last glance at you before leaving the room. You face away from the door and just sigh, you feel like a burden to him in some way. He probably has way better things to do than care about a worthless person like you. You softly start sobbing, until you finally fall asleep.

(Jo, you know, the author... You can skip this if you aren't interested in my opinion of this, and some of the previous part. I'm not totally happy about how this pacing is going, neither the realism about it. I had an plan with the plot twist and this would be a major second part, dragging along longer than it is now. but I guess I didn't think this through and it, in my mind at least has degraded the story and where it is going. Also, I didn't really pull out the real, depressed and lonely character you "play" as. I am scared people wouldn't like that if i add that for various reasons and I didn't do it for the first chapters, I think I will change that in the upcoming ones and really give that character more depth to give it all more meaning. Basically, you'll just play as me and a bit more open for your own personalities to fit in. Sorry for the long ramble, I hope you enjoy the next chapter)
